OPENING REPORT C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2017 HOSPITALS & INSTITUTIONS REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
My congratulations to the entire World Service Conference H&I committee, not simply for our end accomplishments, but because during these 11 months, our committee members has participated, listened, verbally contributed and been involved, as much as I could have hoped for. We completed a global H&I Contact list which we will take ownership of, and, audit for correctness over the next year, contributed to the CA Newsgram and expect to use our contact

list to invite participation in this globally. We completed housekeeping on our WS H&I Guidelines, and invited Arizona H&I leadership (where there is a hotbed of new, excited, participating CA members, many coming from their CA Lifeline actions), to join us in a conference call on our H&I Lifeline concept, to better prepare us for the calls coming in globally, asking for guidance on this important topic for H&I & CA’s future (& they’ve been coming in).
As we always do, we handled Correctional Referral letters from inside the institutions. Plus, our group participated in lively discussions on ongoing H&I issues like panels on the inside of jails & penitentiaries, where limited panel leaders dictate multiple panel formats, or limited funds for literature are assisted by reducing cost of AA study guide literature where possible.

CLOSING COMMENTS:
Every member of our WS Conference Hospitals and Institutions Committee is convinced that carrying the message of Cocaine Anonymous to the newcomer is our primary function. That being said, our WS H&I committee continues to work to enhance that goal with every variable possible. Establishing a global H&I Contact list to expand communication through the entire global H&I community is a lofty goal which we will have the opportunity to put into use over the next months. Continuing to encourage concepts like LIFELINE in all areas of the globe falls perfectly into this committee’s commitment. But that’s not the end. There are no limits to where we may find resources to help us learn, grow and help others.
