C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2026
UNITY COMMITTEE REPORT

INTRODUCTION AND COMMENTS:

The Unity Committee has had a busy and rewarding year focused on communication, participation and fellowship engagement.

Following approval at the 2025 World Service Conference, we got straight to work delivering the ‘Our Common Welfare’ workshop online. Throughout the year, we have also hosted a 12-week ‘Traditions Untangled’ workshop, a 12-week ‘Concepts for Beginners’ workshop, a one-day ‘12 Concepts’ Workshop, a ‘Robert’s Rules of Order’ workshop and a second ‘Our Common Welfare’ workshop. Hosting these events online has allowed for increased participation from members all over the world. Recordings of the sessions were also made available.

One of our most exciting developments has been the continued growth of your Unity Communities. The European Unity CommUNITY has grown to 157 members and continues to be a valuable source of ideas, feedback and fellowship engagement. Inspired by its success, we launched the North American Unity CommUNITY, which has already grown to 24 members.

To support this growth, the committee created two new service positions: European Community Outreach and Liaison and North American Community Outreach and Liaison. We are delighted that the European position has been filled, while the North American position remains an exciting opportunity for any member interested in helping grow fellowship communication and participation.

The committee has also continued to offer support with Celebrate Around the World events and your annual Logo Design initiative. We were particularly encouraged by increased participation from European Areas. Feedback from trusted servants also highlighted confusion about the purpose of Celebrate Around the World, leading to one of our motions which proposes an updated description for our guidelines to provide greater clarity and encourage broader participation.

Another project arising directly from fellowship feedback was the development of a revised Unity Statement of Purpose. After hearing from a number of newly elected Unity Chairs who were unsure of the role and its objectives, we recognised the need for a clearer definition to help trusted servants understand and carry out Unity service with confidence.

The committee has also carefully considered how best to use its budget to benefit the fellowship as a whole. As part of this effort, we provided a $10 discount code for all Conference delegates attending the UNITY Breakfast, helping to reduce costs and provide a direct financial benefit to members and Areas participating in Conference.

We are SO grateful to everyone who has participated in our workshops, communities and projects throughout the year. If anything in this report makes you feel a bit excited please come and talk to us, we LOVE making new friends!!! We’d be so happy to welcome you to the Unity Committee.

As mentioned in the opening remarks, we are still looking for someone to fill the North American Outreach and Liaison position. We would really LOVE to see the North American Unity CommUNITY grow and ﬂourish as the European Unity CommUNITY has. If you would like to help us build this, please come and get involved.
We have also recently (and excitedly!) appointed a Resource Development Chair who is busy forming a Resource Development subcommittee – they will work throughout the year, responding to Fellowship requests for Unity resources and we will see the culmination of their eﬀorts at Conference 2027!!
