Motion: To extend the Unity lunch to include a speaker on the theme of the conference next year. Passed.
Jim J., Convention Committee chair.
Motion: To be added to pg. #8, WS Convention Guidelines. # 9) Shall allocate comp rooms from hotel contract as agreed to by the host city Convention committee and Trustee assigned to work with that committee. The balance of the rooms shall be used by the WS to offset expenses.
A friendly amendment is offered to remove the last sentence of the motion.
The friendly amendment is accepted. The motion is passed.

Motion: To include workshops on the 70/30 plan at all World Service, Area and Regional conventions. After discussion on this motion, the vote is taken and it fails.
Motion: To rescind the motion passed at lasts nights session. That motion refers to limiting the term of the Trustees’.
After discussion on the motion, “to limit the term of a Trustee”, a motion to limit debate is made and passed. The motion to rescind fails.

Motion: To move the WSO to the Central California location, suggested, to San Jose. There is a large enthusiastic fellowship which could assist and serve on the WSOB. If we begin now, the move could be complete in two years.
A motion to object to consideration is made, and passed the motion to move the WSO will not be considered at this conference.

A 50% discount will be granted on the book for H & I purposes, this is consistent with the present H & I literature policy.
In regards to small areas not being able to afford the $12.95 per book, it was suggested that you presell the books so that you can buy in case lots.

If you get your pre order in by the 1 Nov. We can guarantee delivery. The order for printing will be made by the size of the presale. Credit can not be afforded to aras that can not afford to buy books.

General discussion on the Storybook pricing.
Motion: That the World Service Office and the Board of Trustees examine the feasibility of getting the Storybook translated for the best price possible, understanding that Quebec could live with a photocopy of the book done by WSO instead of a typeset and printed copy, and understanding that Quebec would send as much money as possible towards a translation fund.
A motion is make to call the vote. The motion to investigate the feasibility of a French translation is passed.
Passed.
Motion: To sell CA Areas case lots of no more than $9.07 each, which is a 30% discount for the first year. This discount will be for case lots 1-10. Discussion for and against changing the proposed pricing structure. 3 listened to for and 3 listened to against. The motion to increase the discount on 1-10 cases fails.
Motion: That the 1993 CA. World Service Conference approves the pricing structure that was outlined by the World Service Office Board and, as supported unanimously by the CA World Services Board of Trustees and the CA World Service Conference Finance Committee.
Motion to approve the proposed pricing structure is withdrawn.
Motion: That a non-addict be elected to the WSBT at the 1994 WSC.
This provision is provided for in the WS Manual.
Friendly amendment to change wording to: That non-addict Trustee candidates be presented for election at the 1994 WSC. The friendly amendment is accepted.
After a motion to limit debate is made and passed, the vote is taken on the motion that non-addict Trustee candidates be presented for election at the 1994 WSC, is passed.

Motion 135: To change CAWS Conference Charter, #7, to delete the first sentence and in its place, insert the conference will meet once a year. Changing this charter could mean that the (TSC could possibly be held outside the 50 mile radius identified in this charter.
After a motion to object to consideration of this motion, the quorum requirement is established. The motion to object to consideration fails and discussion on the main motion continues.
Motion: To refer the motion to change the charter to committee. A motion is made and passed to limit debate, a vote is taken on referring to committee that is passed. The motion to change the charter will be referred to the conference committee.
