Steve Edwards – I hope I have served you well, I am willing to serve another term if you think I am the best person to do this job. I think there are other people capable of serving.

Kevin Murphy – came to conference at 4 years sober. Regardless of outcome of various things, everytime I leave here it has been a spiritual experience. Been coming for a while. Served as delegate, committee chair, Office Board, Parliamentarian. However it goes, I will find a way to come back here. When you think you are out, they pull you back in.

Willie Bailey – call to question. Honored for nomination. I am study the concepts and traditions. I have something to offer this floor and am willing to serve. Asked for patience and tolerance when I got sober.

Chair – Election procedure requires majority. If no one receives a clear majority, let us know of the top 2. Then we do a second ballot. We nominees will excuse ourselves.

Kellie Federici – after the nominees leave the room, could the doors be closed?

Nominees are Steve Edwards, Kevin Murphy, Willie Bailey.

Show of hands

Start with Steve Edwards, followed for Kevin Murphy and Willie Bailey.

New 2007 Conference Chair – Steve Edwards

Chair – thank you for the vote of confidence. Now opening the floor for Vice Chair/Parliamentarian

Scott Keaveny – Scott Botz

Michael Chiki – Bryan Seid

Scott Botz – for purposes of transcripts there were nominees that declined.

Ann Mosberglia – Jackie Schickler – declined

Chair – any further nominations. Apologies for not reading qualifications prior to nominations. Read qualifications from WS Manual on Page 35. With those qualifications in mind and duties also in WS Manual. Ask nominees to approach the microphone and tell qualifications.

Kellie Federici – believe I process the qualifications for the position. Ready to serve. Humbled to be on the list. A few members may know Roberts Rules of Order better, but have been Area Chair and Regional Chair. Also have been Vice Chair. Wanted fellowship to have options.

Kevin Murphy – believe that I’m qualified. Some of the recommended qualifications involve some of my character defects. I believe in the spirit of rotation but have thought about it over the last couple of days. Other people on this list are qualified. Suggest you choose you best see fit.

Scott Botz – thank you for nomination. Been hanging around conference for number of years. Very well versed in Parliamentary procedures and strategies. Responsibility to people prior to getting to microphone. Been voting and non-voting member on Conference committee. Whole lot of work besides sitting up there looking pretty. Familiar with work of Conference Committee. Could do work very effectively.

Willie Bailey – believe I meet the qualifications especially South Central Area Chair. Enforced procedures there and can do here.

Bryan Seid – in awe of the number of nominations of this job and not the chair. Read and understand may not be the right words as stated in the qualifications. Can’t say that I do. Been here a long time. Comprehension. No doubt. Wondering why you guys are wanting to put me up there? Ice Cream social. Knowledge of parliamentary procedures.

Matt Tepoorten – thanks for nomination. Don’t think that I’m 100% qualified. Understand concepts and traditions. Love and tolerance in my heart. Not strong on Roberts Rules of Order but willing to learn and serve.

Stacey Keyes-Weston – simply honored for nomination. Came here at 1 year sober and been here 5 years. Grown/changed a lot and learned a lot in this room. I would never turn down a nomination for the fellowship that I love. Not sure that I meet allthe qualifications. Have some knowledge but not expert. Would be willing to learn. Would love to do this.

Chair – ask nominees to leave the room. Need 2 non-voting members to count please. Leslie and Jessie, thank you.

Taking nominees in order in which they were nominated.

Chair – we will have to have a second ballot between Kevin Murphy and Bryan Seid. Please bring the other nominees into the room. Welcome back and thank you for your willingness to serve. Our 2 top vote getters are Kevin Murphy and Bryan Seid. Those of you where nominated previously now may vote.

All in favor of Kevin Murphy. All in favor of Bryan Seid.

The new Vice Chair/Parliamentarian of the 2007 Conference is Kevin Murphy. Thank you all for your willingness to serve.

Kevin Murphy – thank you. As someone said about Bryan being off the floor, same with me.

Chair – one more election – Co-Secretary – read the qualifications from WS Manual. Unfortunately because Kellie Federici, who is rotating out, is unable to return because she has served 3 terms.

Kim Sherwan – Anne Bouley

Dot Thompson –

Paul Bach – Ruby Lemoine – declined this year because my position on PI is too important right now.

Bobbie Harmon – Niki Morsovillo – declined for the same reasons as Ruby.

David Booth – Mona Ibrahim – declined

Chair – any further nominations. Seeing none. Can we hear you qualifications?

Anne Bouley – qualifications at the group level, banner girl, Chair, District Chair, Area Secretary twice, S&B Secretary. Court stenographer. Got sober 6/24/96.

Robin Long – Point of Information We need to know what a banner girl is?

Anne Bouley – my home group told me to put banners in a tube, take it home and bring it back every week.

Chair – we can assume that she undertook that awesome responsibility. All in favor for Anne Bouley. Thank you. The new 2007 Co-Secretary is Anne Bouley. Congratulations and welcome to the Conference Committee.

Any new business to be brought before the body at this time. No

Assured the 2007 Convention Committee to present multi-media presentation at this time. Does anyone from theKansas committee wish to discuss

Kay Courtney – 2007 CAWS Recovery in the Heartland Convention – I just want to say that I am going to see all the faces here today and expect to everyone all their areas here.

Chair – want to thank a few moments to recognize a few members of the body. Those rotating out to stand be recognized now. Thank you. I would like to ask those new delegates, alternate delegates or observers. Welcome and keep coming back. I’ve also had a request from Online service Area who don’t often get to see each other face-to-face to stand and be recognized. The Saturday daily summary will be available shortly. Are there any further announcements at this time?

Willie Bailey – acknowledge the 2 trustees and all others rotating out, but would especially like to recognize Stacey Keyes-Weston who has pushed all to be better.

Amanda McCubbin – have this H&I form and wonder who to give to?

Chair – I love Stacey and it is not usual to personally recognize outgoing delegates.

Leslie Groter – reminder to check out at noon. Really need the evaluation forms. We really use them. Your input is very valuable to us.

Susan Bredau – wanted to say if anybody picked up one of the Spanish language cards that was out, please don’t use it. We were going to present for ratified but translation was wrong. Caught it before coming to the floor. Should be available through PI in the year.

Chair – any further announcement.

Carla – Chairperson of the Cruise. 25th birthday. Individual passenger contract therefore not affecting liability to CA. We have secured 24 hour meeting rooms for Marathon. Hoping to have speaker meetings. Cruise newsletter. Piggy Banks for “Saving for my Cruise”. Please come and see me.

Wardell Kahn – online group – face-to-face meeting in Kansas City.

Gerald Collard – having in Nov 24, 25, 26, 20th anniversary convention in Montreal. Dollar worth a bit more. Montreal is a fabulous city.

Karen Rupp – CA Holland will have its first convention in February 2007. Very excited about that and hope we can give something back. Please join me.

Greg Baron – wanted to invite all of you, especially in LA area to San Diego on October 28, dinner/costume dance/speaker meeting. Great place to spend Halloween.

Alonzo Mitchell – Orange County Pacific South Unity Day, September 16. Have tshirts and tickets. Contact David Booth or myself.

Ernest Martin – Halloween weekend – River Unity. 2008, San Francisco, 2008 PNRC. More information to be available.

Ester Bowen – thank everyone for opening your arms. Didn’t want to tell you I was leaving. Thank you all. I was on the convention committee and I was voted Convention Chair October 2007 in Philadelphia. Come party with us. So we can make a bid for world.
