C.A World Service Conference 2004
WSC Cocaine Anonymous Hospitals and Institutions Committee Report Dear H&I committee members,
I would like for you all to take a moment of silence. Our committee is deeply saddened by the loss of Melvin B. His passion and dedication was relentless towards his commitment to H&I and recovery. He will be missed in the present but his spirit lives on in the future. Melvin, we love you and may God keep you.
Personally, I would like to welcome anyone that is new to this committee. I commend you all for selecting the H&I committee because this is where the message of recovery was given to me, so freely. I need to never, ever forget that.
Our committee has been very busy and productive throughout the year. We had a conference call and a World Service meeting at the World Service Convention in Los Angeles.

The Conference call addressed the H&I video. We were given the task to implement an information packet to supplement the video. Jason H., the chair of the Video Script Sub-committee has done a superb job with this project.
The Creative writing sub-committee can always use personal articles for our H&I corner. Remember, the submissions should have a signed disclaimer that is found inside the News gram. These submissions should be 500-1000 words typewritten and preferably on a 3 1/2 floppy disk. We encourage you all to get these articles from Area/District H&I chairpersons and panel leaders. Also, this sub-committee submitted a draft to the WSBT relating to referral # 2085. There has not been any response regarding this document.
The Correctional Referral sub-committee has been active in serving our fellowship with correspondence to the addict that still suffers in correctional facilities. Notwithstanding, the Areas/Districts that have new meetings starting in remote and isolated cities. The requests are continuing to come in at an accelerated rate and with the advent of the H&I video. I foresee a necessary need for an H&I directory/pamphlet for the CA fellowship. WSO will provide us with the current updated list and database to compile the information. We have WSO to include the H&I database forms with all outgoing H&I literature orders. I encourage anyone on this committee whose Area/District that has not filled out an information form concerning the H&I contacts in your prospective locales to do so in a timely manner.
The H&I Guidelines sub-committee will be addressing referral # 3530 and a referral to create new presentation and implementation plan for H&I materials.
Our newest sub-committee, International Outreach has been doing a splendid job. Chairperson, Nicolas L. has gone above and beyond in the quest to carry the message for H&I. He has given his guidance and direction in getting Scotland, Belgium, and Holland started in H&I meetings. Also, the International Outreach Special Projects Fund has reached its goal of $2000.00. Thank you to the CA fellowship for your generosity in furthering the growth of H&I across the pond.
Closing comments
Finally, I want to thank CA of New York and DC/MD/VA for inviting me to speak to their Fellowship It was truly an honor and privilege to carry the message to the addict that cannot make it to one of our regularly scheduled meetings.
Thank you for letting me be of Service.

Danny H. Clean time is associated with NA. I need to know if the committee felt that clean time– was more CA than the term sober?
Jahi B. We tried to get as close as what we felt was a CA feel to the Video. The overall content we–felt was worth keeping.
Danny H. Was that committee aware that questions like this were going to come to the floor?
Jahi B. I am not sure where you are going with this. If you are talking about just the word clean– time
Jahi B. In the context of the interview we could have taken it out, but we felt that the overall content– was worth keeping.
