OLD BUSINESS – Office Move
The counter offer of the landlord at 8885 Venice Boulevard is as follows:
- $1,800 per month base rental ($ .80 psf)
- Three year lease with a two year option to renew at same base rental rate plus applicable and agreed to increases (CPI)
- A 4% CPI increase each year
- Two months free rent.
- Landlord represents that everything in good working order and up to building code standards and that landlord will be responsible for all costs incurred to correct such if necessary.
Motion: To move to the office located at 8885 Venice Blvd. – Suite 103, subject to the conditions above. Seconded. PASSED.
We are looking at a monthly rental rate increase of approximately $267.00, utility increase approximately $50.00 per month, a possible alarm system fee of $50.00. Initial costs to move are: Tenant improvements/construction around $8,000.00, First and last month’s rent $3600., moving company $500., phones $500., keys, $50-$75 for an estimated total move in cost of $12,650. The WSOB is in agreeance that permits will be pulled for tenant improvements.
Two Officers will sign lease after a complete review by the WSOB. It was suggested that those officers be Barry Goldstein and Bob Campbell.
The current WSO reserve balance is $32,000.
Discussion took place on cutting costs at the WSO to assist in the financial burden of the move. It was noted that the WSO could do the Infoline pamphlet in house at a savings of $450 per quarter ($150.00 per month), reducing the Storybook Fund Reserve transfers from 75% to 25% subject to further review. The WSOB feels the $21,000. currently in the SBF Reserve is sufficient for an additional publication of the book. Discussion took place on the inventory currently held at the WSO, R. R. Donnelley, and Eureka Litho, and the commitment of the soft cover book purchase by Hazelden (3500). It was determined that the WSO has enough inventory

of Medallions and Literature to last several months. With the 15,000 soft cover books just bound, and the surplus of medallions, the last literature run that has been paid in full, the WSO should not need to replenish any major inventory item, with the exception of plastic chips.
Motion: To change percentage of allocation of Book sales currently being transferred into the Reserve account from 75% of gross sales to 25% of gross sales effective October 1, 1994. Seconded. PASSED.
