MINUTES COCAINE ANONYMOUS WORLD SERVICE BOARD

Meeting was called to order at 6:55pm. Motion was passed not to read the minutes of the previous meeting since it was August 21, 1986.
II. NEW BUSINESS
A. Howard is receiving contributions from all over the country.
He has been giving them to Jennifer who has been putting them into the main account.
B.Richard made a motion to put $600.00 into the postage meter. Motion passed.
C.Willie suggested we compose a standard letter explaining where our expenses are going. Lionel suggested any contributions that come in a letter be sent back saying thank you and your money is helping support the following: Chips & Literature, etc. Lionel and Helene will work on this.
D. Motion was made to pay both attorneys in full. Cooper, Epstein & Herewitz – $285.47 and Poms, Smith, Lande & Rose – $1,034.17.
Motion passed.
E. Michael should have the new updated National Directory in two weeks.
F. It was suggested that when Laurie sends out starter kits a letter should be sent out with it saying that when they actually start the meeting(s) and they’re ongoing that they let Laurie know many meetings were started in the area, if there’s a Central Office, etc. Lionel will work on this letter.
G. Jennifer said the balance before todays meeting was $14,282.25 Motion was made to pay the following bills:
KCT (chips) $ 2,359.13
Neil Berlinsky (copies-starter kits) 112.00
Howard E. (misc.-ziplock bags) 46.78
Pacific Bell 30.35
Helene H. (postage, delegate card box) 25.13
U.S. Postmaster 600.00
Cooper Epstein & Herewitz 285.47
Poms, Smith , Lande & Rose 1,034.17

H. LA Board paid back the $4,000.00 loan. Micheal read a letter from the LA Board thanking the Ws Board for the loan.
I. Richard said the following cities/states receiving a 50% discount on The Connection so that they can make a profit by selling them: Arizona, Texas, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, Connecticut, Pennsylvania.
J. Individual issues of The Connection being sold are being listed under Chips & Literature but should be shown as what they actually are.
K. Jennifer asked for approval for a check in the amount of $905.24 for printing 1800 copies of The Connection. Motion passed.
L. Willie resigned as Chairman of the World Service Board.
Bob M. was unanimously elected as the new Chairman.
M. Howard made a motion to elect a new Vice Chairman to replace Bob M. Jerry P. was nominated and voted in unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 7:50pm with the Serenity Prayer. The next meeting will be on Thursday November 6, 1986.
