The meeting was called to order with the serenity prayer at 7:30PM.
Bob G. read the long version of the 3rd tradition.
Helene read the minutes of October 8, 1987 Board Meeting.
Motion: To accept minutes as read. Seconded and carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Public Information – Bob G.
- A written report was submitted
- Sign with logo for podiums (conference approved) would cost approximately $3 each.
- “Meeting Here” sign with CA Logo (conference approved) would cost approximately $3.25 each per 100.
- Stickers – clear acetate would price as follows
- 3,000 72.25 per thousand
- 6-10,000 58.00 per thousand
It was suggested these be sold for 25q each. There would be a one time set up cost of $75.
MOTION: To purchase 100 signs for podiums as per conference approval (They are 10″ signs with velcro backing). Seconded and carried.
e. Bob will make up a letter regarding the video PSA’s and an order form for PSA’s
OLD BUSINESS
- Area Service Offices to get copies of Newsgram
- Connection-to check on monies due WSO if any by any area that have received copies not already paid for.
- $2500 to be sent to Greg D. of Chicago for Chicago Convention with letter stating that this is the start up money for the convention and asking that they show a complete accounting for our non-profit accounting status laws per California law. Expressed to Chicago committee that the bank account should be opened at a Bank of America Branch.
- Workmen’s compensation insurance. Helene to request form again and re-issue for quote from State Compensation.

E) City of Culver City – Steve P. to check our status with Culver City.
F) Rusty to check into State Board of Equalization
G) Rusty to prepare a report regarding our Federal Trademark situation.
H) Rusty to send information with Logo to Bernie Gans re- Bernie’s last request to show use of the block lettering (response to his letter of November 3, 1987)
I) A rough draft of the minutes of the conference will be available beginning of January.
COMMITTEE REPORTS – Cont’d
OFFICE – Cory A.
Chips- inventory given at conference. Chips received today.Will present another inventory at next board meeting.
H&I literature- all areas to receive literature at cost for H & I only. One person from each area to place orders for H&I and to give the office 2 weeks notice for all orders. A letter will go out to all area offices and H&I committees regarding this issue.
New Employee- Ed Z. was hired at $5 per hour. Cory will advise how many hours he will be needed on a weekly basis.
For next meeting Cory will check into another company to make our plastic chips.
Insurance-Tom (From Chicago) Tom will look for broker in town (L.A.) to supply us with a policy for the office, to include fire,theft, and liability. If local broker in L.A. not available, he will make contact through Chicago.
Medical insurance-Cory to check into quotes for insurance. Her salary is now increased to $6.90 per hour.
NEW BUSINESS
- An attachment to our present order form will be produced to include signs and stickers per Public Information report.
- Per Conference – Dyes for 6-10years for the metal chips will cost $250 each. To begin production as finances are available. To also begin production of scrolls for the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of Cocaine Anonymous as finances are available.
