CHAIR ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Reason for special meeting-
- An important announcement from the WSBT by Sarah T, Chairperson
- WSBT Long Term Planning sub-committee have a committee studying moving the World service office and we’ve been exploring that.
- All regions through the trustees were invited to submit RFPs from areas within the region. In total we only got 4 back. One from Europe, one from Atlantic North and two from Southwest region, and we did encourage an RFP from the Pacific South region.
- After final deliberation and careful consideration and considered what was best to serve C.A. as a whole right now, the WSBT have decided that the World Service office will officially move to Arizona in the Southwest region from October 2024
- It’s going to be a lot of work ahead for over the next coming year. We will get some support from the Arizona area as well. It will be a major project for the WSOB. We have studied the legal ramification with our attorney and we’re on board with their decision. We looked at the costs for moving the office, human resources, relocation items that we would be taking and items that wouldn’t be going and the cost to replace them, cost for state filings and we will inform the Finance Committee. We will be asking for a one-line item to go forward in the amount of 27,000$.
