World Service Office Trustee Report
Submitted 12 March 2009
- Attended the WSBT Quarterly this past weekend, where we were able to conduct a number of critical issues that I will be reporting on later in my report.
- The WSBT did not ratify Mona I for DAL and Mona has been notified, would like to encourage all directors to continue to outreach for this position.
- I would like to announce that the WSBT would like to thank all candidates who submitted resumes for the WSOB Chair position, and congratulate Tom P as the WSOB Chair elect, whose term starts at the end of Conference 2009.
- The Announcement for Treasurer will go back out to the fellowship, would ask all to participate I n getting the word out into the fellowship.
- There were some motions made concerning the AA permission of modifying How it works in HFC II.
- Patty will be acting as DOO & DRPD on an interim basis until interviews are conducted and we have qualified candidates to send to the WSBT.
- Patty will also be training the staff and working on the financials in an effort to get our finances back on track as well as our books, I would like to thank Patty for her willingness and the rest of the staff in advance for their effort in stepping up to the plate getting us through this period of transition.
- I would like to personally Thank John for his commitment and service of the years , and his commitment to the global growth of our fellowship. I also want to express my gratitude for the leadership and friendship he has displayed to me personally and to this board.
Motions from Quarterly 3/09
- Motion to cease publications and distribution of any material and or literature containing “How it Works” effective immediately
Page 1
- Motion to have TAL investigate as to whether or not we have permission to re-print with redistribution (all media) of other AA literature/phrases…ie The Promises, and A Vision for you.
- Motion for WSO to set up meeting, face to face, with AA to address the problem and ways to solve it, make amends, ask for forgiveness, and how can we make further restitution. Record of meeting via minutes should be distributed to the WSOB and WSBT. Meeting to include WSOB Chair, Paid Director, WSBT chair (if in LA, WSOT and Regional Trustee) and local Regional Trustee.
- Motion that a letter regarding this issue be drafted with members of both boards involved in the writing of it. Letter should be approved by both boards before distribution.
- Motion to address the issue with the fellowship via letter to the delegates, Newsgram articles, CA website, assemblies, and delegate mailings…after the meeting with AA.
- This plan should be followed in order and with full cooperation of both boards, what we have concluded is this will have to be a joint effort by both boards coming together to address this issue as one united front.
The work that was accomplished this past weekend is short of a miracle, the WSBT worked with due diligence to complete its task, taking into consideration that we owe our best effort to the fellowship. It is an Honor and a privilege to serve this fellowship and you my fellow board members and bring forth to the conference our best efforts.
Respectively Submitted,
