Teri – Does anyone have a copy of the email Ginger sent open right now?
John – Finds the letter…
Leon – reads the letter – and his response (as follows)
To the Trustees:
I was contacted by a member of CO-Anon in my district.
She asked that I make a motion at my focal
inter-group to allow CO-Anon flyers to be brought to
the inter-group meeting. So GSRs and such would know
that there is a Co-Anon meeting and where.
This was a very controversial issue. The motion
passed but there was a lot of concern that we were
breaking Traditions. So, I promised to contact the
Trustees and see what you all had to say.
According to the CAWS convention program it says, “In
respect to Tradition Six, Cocaine Anonymous has a
willingness through the spirit of cooperation to
inform you of the Co-Anon activities.”
Co-Anon has struggled and just doesn’t seem to catch
on here. Mainly because they don’t get much support,
if any, from our district.
We would make sure that on their flyers it says,
“Co-Anon is not affiliated with Cocaine Anonymous”
What do you think? I would NOT want to break any
Traditions, but I fee! compelled to help them.
Thanks,
Ginger L. (last name removed)

Leon’s suggestion: I suggest that during the GSR’s or the literature report that a statement like this be read:
