Committees

Committees will break off to formulate an agenda for rest of the year.

Committees return to the Conference Floor. Each Committee will be given 15 minutes to address the Conference on their upcoming agenda.

Discussion of Conference Chairperson and Co-Chairperson – Term.

What we did last Conference – We started the Chairperson off in an odd-ball way. Bob M. will be assistant – Has a 2 year commitment and Willie has a ?? year commitment. Chairperson gets voted on at the next Conference for a 2-year term, serving the first year as a the assistant and the second year as the Chairperson. Willie O. will be Chairperson at the next Conference. After the Conference Bob M. takes over as Chairperson.

Letter from Bob Mc. To World Services. Attn: Trustees was read.

Committee nominated and elected a new Chairperson.
Bob Mc. from SFO.
Voted on and accepted Bob Mc. as New Finance Committee Chairperson.

A Physical inventory of chips and literature should be performed.

By persons who do not normally handle this function. It is necessary to establish a baseline of what is on hand, in order to begin maintaining acceptable records.

Secretary of World Service Office take inventory.

Copies of chip/lit orders must be maintained. Along with this is a requirement that an order form be filled out for any cash sales.

Accurate inventories of all convention souvenirs have to be taken after the July 1986 convention.

It is the responsibility of the Chairperson of the Finance Committee to appoint a member of the Finance Committee to be in attendance during inventory taking before and after major functions. This will be permanent.

The Finance Committee should develop policies defining spending authority limits for WSO Officers to be incorporated in the By-Laws.

Duly authorized attendees of the Board, by the Board to Conferences have their expenses paid, such expense to be reasonable and properly documented after authorization by the Finance Committee as per budget.

That there be a three part cash receipt book for the Chip and Literature person. To be distributed- one copy to the customer, one copy to the Treasure and one copy to remain in the book.

No Chips or Literature be fronted.

Chips and Literature should be secure in on place.

H and I Committee

To accept the entire H and I package as modified pending approval

Allow World Services H and I Committee to develop a pamphlet equivalent to this one AA in treatment centers for presentation to the Literature Committee for approval.

Internation Affairs Committee

Internal Affairs Committee and Literature Committee will get together by the next Conference and discuss “CA Guidelines” piece C? Literature.

National Directory

60 page national directory – unable to get out a correct national directory in time for this conference. Committee will send out to “Areas” a directory. Reason directory not ready – when put into computer, meetings not separated by “types”.

New Business

A. Re: Minutes
Secretary to prepare and distribute minutes of the Conference within 90 days of the conference close.

B. Delegates are to review and submit proposed changes to minutes back to secretary within 90 days of receipt of original minutes.

C. Secretary to distribute revised minutes incorporating delegates proposed changes as necessary to all delegates at least 90 days prior to Conference.

A. Delegates to submit proposed agenda items 120 days prior to each Conference.

B. Agenda to be distributed to all delegates and interested parties at least 60 days prior to the Conference.

Public Information Committee propose a budget in detail submitted to the Finance Committee to be brought back to this Conference for approval. Must be submitted prior to the Conference.

All Committee Chairpeople should prepare a budget to submit to the Finance Committee in order to prepare a budget for submission to the World Conference.

World Service Board of Trustee Selection

Formal Thanks to fellowship and those involved with Trustee selection.

Finance Committee

1. When crediting chips or purchasable literature proper records be kept.
2. No new motion on item “F” page 3, that was tabled earlier.
3. Finance Committee goes on record as stating: “We do not support selling literature at cost.”
4. We will be working on for the next Conference.
a. Making suggested pie. 60/30/10 plan pamphlet
b. Chips and Literature be sold at discount to general services and Intergroups.

Bob Mc. will be coming down as approved at previous conference to assist in preparation for the year end financial statement. The fiscal year ends May 31, so he will be down soon. Bob Mc. is you new Chairman starting now and clark from Seattle, WA,. is your new Vice-Chairman. Bill B. Thanks you for letting him be a part of this.

Finance Committee suggests that Areas put on fund raisers for World Services.

Internal Affairs

Have 5 subcommittees for Areas to provide communication propose through the Literature Committee a piece called “The CA Group”. This pamphlet will be taken only as an idea the writing will be totally from our own experience and from our Areas from our own words. Group communication to be implemented.

Helene is elected to take New Communication position at WSO.

Literature

Literature committee will meet again in August in Los Angeles on the 23rd and 24th. “To the Newcomer” will be going out to the fellowship for your approval shortly after this Conference. After reviewing the piece return it to World Services Office P.O. Box 1367 Culver city, CA 90232 Attn: Reggie L.
Our object is to gather and review all literature. Included are, logos and meeting formats.

Hospitals and Institutions

Will be working on a statement on how the Traditions apply on the Hospitals and Institutions Committee that was established at the last Conference that is not yet complete.

Public Information

No. California will produce a public service announcement under the guidance of the World Service Public Information Committee. going to look at Chicago’s Public Information pamphlet. We submit a budge to the Finance Committee to reimburse the Bay Area Service Committee for the ??? (Next several words unreadable)… work on the adaption of the AA Public Information workbook.

Convention Committee

Time and Location of Next Conference.

Reno, Nevada March 7, 8, 1987

Possible Locations were: Los Angeles April 1987 / San Francisco March 7, 8, 1987 / Santa Fe, N.M. April 11, 12, 1987 / New York April 1987. / Los Vegas, NV. April 1987.

Time and Location for the next World Service Convention.

Proposed July 4th Weekend — in San Francisco
