Meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm with quiet time and the Serenity Prayer.
Paul B. read the Ninth Tradition.
Pam K. read the minutes from July 13, 1989 Board Meeting. The Office* Manager’s Report is hereby corrected to read that Mary requested a reduction in the price of the sub-standard metal chips, and not a reduction in the inventory. There was not a quorum at this meeting therefore the minutes were not accepted.

Balance of Trust Account: $1,619.18
Balance of Operating Account: $1,843.22
Total working funds: $3,462.40
Segregated funds not included in the above mentioned are as follows:
Dance Around the World funds: $5,529.24
World Service Conference: $2,666.62
Total segregated funds: $8,195.86
Partial payments are being made on the literature. $4,000 down with the balance due in August. Bob suggested that the money alotted to WSO from the Dance Around the World funds could be used now since August is an extraordinary expense month.
OFFICE MANAGER’S REPORT – Marv C.
An activity report was submitted to the Board. Orders for July ’89 are down 38% from June which could be due to the literature given away at the Conference. Donations are down 14%. Wendell’s charged $.77 per chip as opposed to $.69 per chip on an invoice. When asked about this, they said that the $.69 price was for letting them sell the chips to outside enterprises (i.e. putting them in their catalog). They dropped the price to $.75 per chip. Ray will look into the presentation made by Wendell’s to the Trustees for the price quote and see if any conditions applied to the $.69 price. Mary is looking into having Wendell’s stock metal chips so they will be ready to ship when orders are placed.

ORANGE COUNTY’S REPORT – Paul B. and Debbie G.
The area is still trying to straighten up their non-profit status. Their donations to WSO have been down pending the outcome of their tax situation and the possibility of being fined. The literature problem has been solved. Unity was discussed at great length.
PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE – Mitch G.
Helene reported that the fellowship responded wonderfully to the new literature at the World Service Convention in New York. They loved it. The Board expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Mitch and Carla for all their hard work.

The NY Convention made approximately $38,000 profit. The 1990 Convention in Arizona is moving right along. It will be a 4 day convention. The hotel wants a $5,000 deposit by September 1, 1989 so the Dance Around the World money will be used.
