TREASURER’S REPORT – Bob C.
Bob C- Suggested that Sarah’s name be deleted from the signature card with the bank & not to white it out. This suggestion was tabled til the next Board meeting. Helene & Bob will see to it that the state sales taxes are filed by the end of July, Ray G. will assist.

COMMITTEE REPORTS CONNECTION – Reggie L.
Reggie L., Tony C., Susie S-. and several volunteers had a meeting on July 24th to discuss ways to get greater participation on both the Connection & the Newsgram. Chris S. is the Connections connection & will be in charge of distribution. The mailing list for the Connection has to be re-organized & updated for distribution. Mel M. will be paid for his work on the Connection & the Newsgram in regards to type-setting. He will be paid $20 per page on the Connection, 8 pages totalling $ 60.00. Further bids on this type of work will be sought in the future to compare prices.

Connection – cont‘d
Each Board member committed themselves to the effort of getting issues of the Connection out to different CA meetings. Each member will take 25 issues to help promote sales. Each member will also put the word out that stories, poems and qoutes are needed to be published in the Connection.
WORLD DIRECTORY – Steve M.
The World Directory will be finished in time for the World Conference. Steve M. has stated that the format will change to show each CA meeting by State, then City. There will be an Index, with page codes and descriptions of the meeting, e.g. smoking, non-smoking etc. It will show a meeting count’per state and the end of the Directory will show the total of all meetings. It will also have a disclosure statement and a copyright date. The quantity printed will be 000 copies.

NEWSGRAM – Tony C.
Each Board member would like to extend their Welcome to Margie G. as the new Editor of the Newsgram. Welcome Aboard Margie.
Margie G. is working on a form to be handed out at the Conference & a box for their return to be able to publish happenings in other parts of the Country. She fills this will help to promote Unity among the different areas. August 4th is the deadline for the next Newsgram and Margie fills assured that the date will be met. Mel M. has stated that he now would like to bid on the type-setting needed to put out the Newsgram. His offer is $680.00. This figure would include the cost of printing lay-out and type setting. The Board members fill this is a fair price but bids will still be taken to compare prices.
Another special thanks goes out to Margie M. for her assistance on both the Newsgram & Connection over the past 2 years. We are very grateful to have you.
CHIPS & LITERATURE – David C.
All back orders on both Chips & Literature have been filled. 9833 chips were sent out and 10,520 pieces of literature, and 40 metal chips. Bob C. had some new quotes on the Chips, but that issue will be tabled until the next board meeting.
OFFICE – David C.
As of July 18,]988 Cory A. resigned & in her place David C. was hired as of the same date. Helene H. & David C. will be working together to organize the office. There was no futher report at the time of this meeting.

PUBLIC INFORMATION – Steve P.
Beth S. has been interview to be our Public information rep at the Conference. She will be invited to the next Board Meeting to discuss her qualification further.
P.S.A. – Steve P.
Steve P. called several different areas who showed an interest & want copies of our P.S.A. tape. It cost $613.71 for the initial run of the tape. The original tape will cost $75 additional copies will be at a cost of $25 apiece. The tapes will each have their own individual invoice # for easy re-orders.
OLD BUSINESS
- We now have our tax I.D. # so by filling out a re-sale card for each vendor we do business with we don’t have to pay tax a second time.
- We were able to rent a copier for the Conference at a cost of $20 a day and .02 a copy. The initial rental fee will be $220 which will cover delivery and set-up. We will be billed for the copies.
- Helene H. after calling several bookkeeping services found Budget Bookkeeping, they charge $30 an hour for service, $55 an hour for meetings and $95 an hour to do income taxes for the end of the Year. Helene will be inviting Barry to our next Board meeting to discuss our needs further and a decision will possibly be made at that time.’
- Room registration has been completed for the Board members for the conference.
- Margie M. has been given a Calendar of events for the Conference to be published in the Newsgram.
NEW BUSINESS
- Helene will be looking into the cost of a transcribe service to do the tapes of the conference.
- Helene checked into the cost of banners & found an alternate method of Showing the Twelve Steps & the Twelve Traditions instead of on window shade material. This was tabled until further checking had been done.
- At next Board meeting, board meeting dates will be set for the rest of the year.
