Meeting opened at 7:05 with Bob C. asking Earl H.to leads us in the WE version of the Serenity Prayer.

Birthdays:

Schedule: Next WSOB meeting is January 26

Visitor Reports: Susan B. reported that this will be her last meeting as Recording Secretary. She will attend next meeting to assist new Recording Secretary.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Tom Phelan – no report

OFFICE REPORT – Patty Flanagan – Written report submitted – we made our sales goal! Problems with 800# Frankenserver continue. Guess that we will need to spend upwards of $3000 to correct problem. Inventory is low. We will be ordering a lot.

End of quarter report will be available at next meeting.

We will need to conduct online business before the next meeting re: new server. Would like to have solution in place by Monday Morning.

2007/Kansas City pancake breakfast fundraiser was a success in spite of the storm. They made over $250.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Approve Minutes from December 8 – JF/TP – Motion to accept minutes as read. Passes.
  2. Starter Kits – Discuss prior to next Pacific South Regional Assembly (2/25) PF – Send letter regarding all starter kits purchased by meetings included in WSO P&L. KJR – We have 2 meetings prior to next Pacific South Caucus. Would like to see numbers and will make a report at PS Caucus. TP – $7000 in starter kits. 1% of budget. JF – We want the areas to take responsibility for new meetings. (OB next meeting)
  3. CAWS 2006 Entertainment deposit for Marcus Wiley, comedian – $1000.00 (OB) HH & KJR – will draft counter offer with our terms.

KJR/ PF – Motion to offer comedian $1000 total on our contract terms. Passes

  1. HFC-2 – JW: Committee still working on text. (OB)
  2. Status of Delegate Mailing – Went out. Still need supplemental mailing.
  3. Houston Drawings – made $400+
  4. Status of Houston Program – have draft. JW – Fri – Comedian, Dance and Aquarium at same time and registration form does not reflect conflict. Time conflicts and assigned room problems.
  5. Revisit one price for C&L (no H&l discount) (OB next meeting)
  6. HH – Status of trademark for We’re Here & We’re Free. It is a registered Trademark.

Plan to start transitioning

PF/KJR – Motion to cease using TM and begin using circle R. Passes. Jon Fish will update the website.

Board Reports:

Bob C. – Chair: no written report. Have spoken with Cynthia a few times.

Judy W.-Vice Chair: no report

Jon Fish – Director 1/Webservant: Will send WSOB email with new email addresses.

Website is current. Provided pdf of HFC 1 in French.

Kathy Jo R. – Director I – written report submitted (Put RegOnline as OB)

Happy H. – Secretary – CALA wants to know what an Office Assistant would cost per year. They are thinking of funding 1A 25th Anniversary Cruise is on hold.

Earl H. – WSOB Trustee: Written report submitted. There was a motion to elect Tom as new WSOB Treasurer. Passed. 4 Trustees are rotating off as of this Conference.

Hayward Howard – WS Trustee – written report submitted – Survived 2nd Conference Call! Motion made to close Brentwood PO Box. HH will update as to outcome.

CAWS 2006/Houston – Hotel unable to put Patty up for Feb. meeting – will need to stay elsewhere. BC – we may have to pick a different weekend. Jay F. has asked that Patty come to General & Steering Committee. Not necessary. $9000 profit at this point. We will no more in the next 3 weeks. Entertainment Chair has not responded to any questions regarding AN requirements. Still no website.

CAWS 2007/Kansas City – Registration chair was not aware of WSOB’s plans to implement RegOnline.

  1. Status of KC Reg forms for Houston? – OB
  2. Additional outreach piece – OB

CAWS 2008/Salt Lake City –

CAWS 2009/Denver – Omni contract finalized. PF has not spoken to hotel liaison. Cutoff date for attrition needs to be managed. A new management challenge. KJR thinks there are not enough room nights. May need to use an additional hotel.

  2. PF/EH – Motion to spend $150.00 for 50 Sterling Silver Principles chips to be sold for $10 each. Passes unanimously.
