A. DENVER ’97 – STEVE
There is only one committee chair remaining to be filled: Child-care. 247 individuals have booked hotel accommodations as of the first of February. The memorabilia committee has all special events booked and are waiting for reservations. The general committee will meet February 15th and then every two weeks until the start of the convention.
B. SAN DIEGO – JOE
The Marriott hotel in Irvine has been selected as the location for the convention. The committee was unable to secure a reasonably priced hotel in the San Diego area.
C. MILWAUKEE – SCOTT
Quinn has been elected as chair of the Convention Committee. He is gathering service resumes of potential committee chairs. They are beginning to organize fund-raisers.
5. WSC LITERATURE COMMITTEE – SHARON
“Meeting Inventory” is complete and will be sent to members of the committee soon. Still waiting for the signed release on “Being of Service”; when that is received it will be sent to the office to go out in draft form to the fellowship. The following pieces are in progress:

WEB page is going strong. Received a request from the Recovery Network to read “Who is a Cocaine Addict?”. Approval was given with the request that Cocaine Anonymous be identified.

There have been negotiations with various hotels and tapers.

2. TRUSTEE AT LARGE- SHARON
The meetings remain the same and donations are low. The area has been trying to get PSA’s on the air. The HelpLine is still providing the list of existing meetings in DC, Maryland, and Northern VA. The H&I committee is holding onto the existing meetings, but struggling for support. The Regional Assembly will be held April 18-20 1997, but is still in the planning stage. The new meetings in Frederick are doing well and there are two new meetings in Northern VA, with George Simpson as the contact person.
3. TRUSTEE AT LARGE ~ CHRIS
Chris attended a meeting with a group in Oklahoma City, worked on a traditions pamphlet with Danny F. And aided in negotiations with the SWR convention contract for 1997. Chris visited with James from Kansas City at the first area convention . Two articles for the NEWS GRAM (Third Tradition & Our Most Precious Asset) are in the works. Chris is working on the 9th annual convention in Oklahoma.

The new Internet direct access provider service is up and running
The 1996 year end accounting is at the accountants for preparation.
4th Quarter Sales Tax was due 1/31/97 and has been done.
The Annual Welfare Exemption (annual filing) with the County Assessors office has been received and completed.
The Newsgram is at the typesetters.
