This meeting was called to order at 7:20 p.m, with the Serenity Prayer.

Tradition 10 was read.

Concept 10 was read.

The minutes of the 1/23/93 meeting were read. Motion to accept the minutes as read. Seconded. (PASSED)

  1. CAWSO COMMITTEE REPORTS:

A. Hospitals & Institutions – Susan T.

Lee reported for Susan that everything is going well, nothing to report.

B. Spanish Outreach/Literature Translation – Pablo M.

Not present. No report.

C. Public Information – Dan T. {see attached)

Dan read his report and submitted his committee’s minutes. Lee is working on a letter (statement) of anonymity to be included with the press release for 1993 WS Convention. Research will be done on the mailing list problem.

D. Publications – Greg D.

Four offers to publish the CA Book have been received. Six offers to edit the book have also been received. Requests for publishing experience will be made. Portions of the book will be sent to these individuals to determine editing skill level and bids. Al Fahr will meet with the WSOB and Publications Committee when an editor is hired. An art editor is still available to us from Al Fahr. The meeting with Al Fahr is scheduled for March 25, 1993 at 5:00 p.m. K.D. questioned Greg regarding publishing software. Greg two suggested programs one of which is called Pagemaker.

E. World Service Directory – Neil B.

Neil in absentia reported that 918 meetings have been entered into the computer system for the directory,

F. C.A. Book – Carrie C.

Sixteen copies ($180.13 bid approved for copies) of the manuscript were made for the WSBT, WSOB,Greg D., and Amy B. for review. A temporary title page and table of contents outlining the status of each story (editing, title changes and blurbs) was included. Bill requested a “story” of how the C.A. Book came about to be used as a release prior to publication or as a Newsgram story. The chronicalization would be archived.

G. Literature, Chips & Format – Raymond C.

Not present. No report.

H. Unity Outreach – Not present. No report.

I. Convention – Peter S.

Not present. No report.

J. Conference – Dan P.

Not present. No report. A delegate mailing will take place March 1, 1993. Carrie C. will come in to assist with the mailing on February 26th. Jerry will help find volunteers.

K. Structure & Bylaws – Brian N.

Brian reported that there is nothing to report.

BREAK 8:15 p.m. – 8:40 p.m.

2. OFFICE REPORT: (see attached)

K.D. read her office report. K.D. thanked Greg for all the good work he did on the Newsgram.

A. Billboards – Motion made to add a deadline May 1, 1993 for orders of billboards to flyer. Seconded. (PASSED)

Motion made to add the 800# to any remaining billboards not specially ordered out of the twenty. Seconded. (PASSED)

B. Delegate Notebooks – K.D. will remind delegates with a flyer in the March mailing that they will be charged for the cost of a notebook if they don’t bring their’s to the Conference.

C. Delegate Registration Fees – This idea was discussed and will be referred to the WSC Finance Committee at the 1993 WSC.

D. Albuquerque Check – Motion made to classify check as a 7th tradition donation. Seconded. (PASSED)

E. 12 Step/12 Tradition Posters – One bid has been received. K.D. will do more research for and obtain additional bids.

F. Trustee Starter Kits Request – Discussion took place regarding procedure.

G. CA Book Expenses – Discussion took place as to whether book expenses should be paid from the CA Book fund or the general fund. Motion made to pay book expenses out of the general fund for later reimbursement from book fund. Seconded. (PASSED)

H. Connecticut Literature Check – Discussion took place as to whether this debt should be written off as a bad debt or the matter refered to the area’s GSO for review. K.D. will contact the area chairperson and forward documentation of the unpaid status of the order if necessary.

I. Newsgram – Motion made to charge .25 cents for the Newsgram. Seconded. Discussion. Motion rescinded.

J. $500 Trust Account Donation – Motion made to deposit $500 into the Trust Account. Seconded. (PASSED)

K. Honey Do List – K.D, reviewed last meeting’s list.

3. FINANCE: (see attached)

Steve submitted and discussed a draft of the year-end (1992) financial statement. Steve and K.D. wilt communicate with each other necessary changes to be made to format, figures, etc.

4. OLD BUSINESS:

None.

5. NEW BUSINESS:

A. Publishing Software – Motion made to purchase a copy of the Pagemaker program and pay $120 for a computer class instructing K.D. on its use. Seconded. (PASSED)

B. WSOB/1993 WS Convention (Houston) – Motion made to have the WSO pay for either airfare or hotel costs to the 1993 WS Convention in Houston. Seconded. (PASSED)

Meeting adjourned at 10:50 p.m. with the Serenity Prayer.
