MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING

FEBRUARY 11, 1988

T!ie meeting was called to order at 7:30pm with the serenity prayer. Steve P, read the long version of the 6th Tradition.

Helene read the minutes of the board meeting from 1/14/88.

Public Information

Robin W. will be asked to at tend the board meeting of February 25, 1988.

OLD BUSINESS

  1. Logo stickers will cost $73/1000 at Copy Center.
  2. Cory to pick-up “Meeting Here” signs at AAA Flag & Banner.
  3. Fact File – hold on printing until finances straightened out.
  4. Hold up on shopping around for typewriter, filing cabinets, etc. until we are. more financially stable .
  5. Cory to check and see if monthly rental on copy machine can be applied to a new machine or purchase of the machine we are now renting.
  6. Cory has been approved for medical insurance. She will bring a copy of the policy for review. The conference approved a yearly premium of $1000. This premium will be $ 1200 per year. Cory will pick up the difference.
  7. Helene will call State Compensation for new application For Workmen’s Comp ens .a t i o n office.
  8. State Board of Equalization – Rusty wi11 follow-up on all information regarding the corporation.
  9. Ray is getting filings for non-profit status for C.A.W.S.0,, Inc,
  10. Rusty will follow up on Tax ID//.
  11. Business license – needed for new corporation
  12. Rusty sent all information to Bern.ie Cans . Bernie is preparing a declaration that we have been using the CA logo prior to the filing, for Coco’s signature.
  13. Status of matter with Dr. Baron i s s till pending.via Trademark Board of Appeals.
  14. Job descriptions for board members due at board meeting 2/25/88.
  15. Next board meetings; February 25, March 17th and 31st.
  16. Mailings were sent out. They included Newsgrams, Convention flyers, and letter of anonymi ty.
  17. Cory has requested assistance on writing the cover letter for donations. Coco has volunteered to help her on this.
  18. Ed Z. – set up with a more definite schedule of hours to work. His hours will be Monday 2-5, Wednesday 2-5, and Friday 2-5. His hours are reduced to 9 hours weekly. Coco wi11 also speak to him regarding his posi tion.
  19. Connection – Susan S. from San Gabriel has consented to be Chairperson of this committee. Would like to set a goal of the W.S. Convention for the 1st issue to be ready.

t) Bill from Bernie Cans – Balance owed is $596.14 .

u) Metal Chips ~ all metal chip orders to be done by Cory directly to Wendells. All orders to be approved by the board.

v) Cory will notify Newsgram and Intergroup Committee Chairpersons on meeting on February 25.

w) We are looking for suggestions of persons to head up the following committees Public Information and Archives – as well os suggest!ons for a new assistant for Cory.

b) Cory has received too many cal Is from board members on a daily basis. Time spent on the telephone causes work not to be done.

c) Finance committee- requested that we separate chip and literature orders. Linda will inform them we do not have manpower to do this per order.

TREASURERS REPORT – Linda H.

When new accounts were opened, Bank of America put 3 day hold on the monies transferred into the trust account from Wells Fargo Bank. These funds were to be available on the 15th of December. Bank of America bounced a transfer check for $2500 to the operating account, which presented before the 15th.

  • Trans. to operating 5000

  • $12,281,72

There will be a deposit of approximately $3000 added to the trust account this week.

All bills to be approved at each board meeting before payment is to be made. In an emergency si tuat ion, a phone pool amongst the board members is to be made.
