CAWS CONVENTION REPORTS

CAWS 2025 (Arizona) Jay P.

Highlights:

  • General Committee meeting held at the Convention hotel.
    • We talked about coffee and are asking for some help from the hotel to accommodate us bringing in coffee capabilities.
    • The registration website is down until Dec 31st. V Fairs recommended to do this so they could do a complete recoding. They are finalizing the ability relogging into the site. There just seems to be glitch after glitch. This is unfortunate but better to get them worked out now. We are asking for some type of financial compensation. But we want a working website first.
  • Fundraising
    • Suite auctions are up and running.
    • Suite raffle tickets being sold.
    • Cabana auction proposed – needs discussion later.

CAWS 2026 (Florida)

Highlights:

  • The General Committee is taking good form and is gaining momentum. We are preparing to enter 2025 with fresh energy and laser focus.
    • The Fundraising Committee and Memorabilia Committees are meeting in tandem as they are a few members who serve on both committees. We are producing a run of t-shirts and hoodies using the “retro” artwork that was approved by WSBT and WSOB (check request attached).
      • Fundraising events in the Florida Districts in Florida are taking place with more being planned. We are also planning a spiritual retreat to take place in fall of 2025.

CAWS 2027 (Washington)

Highlights:

  • Steering committee continues to meet monthly and general committee meets every other month. December’s meetings have been pushed out a week due to Holiday schedules.
  • Fundraising: “Death of a Gangster” murder mystery event that took place was on 12/07 was a success and everyone had amazing things to say about it..

CAWS 2028 (Scotland)

Highlights:

  • There is not much to report this month. I have been gathering resumes for the standing committee and I will be submitting these to the WSCCC for ratification on the 20th of this month.

OFFICE DIRECTOR REPORTS

Director of Operations- Tai B.

Highlights:

  • Office update:
    • Yearend Inventory
      • The last order for business because I know a lot of people are curious about this, for that is going to be January 3rd. We will reopen back up January 13th because as you know, we have since moving, so we have to do a really, really thorough one moving forward.
    • With the registered agent I was able to take care of Arizona, so we’re pretty much a business here as far as employees are concerned.

Page | 2

  • Merchandise:
    • We’ve had a lot of requests in the office by word of mouth asking about the chips having later dates on them for years. We are now looking to what will be required to add years to our inventory.

Chair – Randy G.

Highlights:

NEW REFERRALS RECEIVED:

WSOB 2024-01 pre-Conf 2024

Patrice H F. Ohio area

Under box instructions, it states a change was made to the way information would be disseminated. “The World Service Office will no longer send out quarterly emails to delegates. Instead, all information will be uploaded to Box.” in the world Service Manual under World Service Office it states ” The World Service Office (WSO) is the main contact and distribution point of C.A. Its main purpose is to maintain contact with members, Groups, Districts, and Areas. Contact is sustained through correspondence, newsletters, e-mail, the website www.ca.org, and representatives within our service structure.

I have some questions I would like to have addressed. 1. Who had the authority to make this decision? 2. Why was this decision made? 3.What has to happen to continue to get the quarterly emails?

It was my understanding the Box was a tool used for conference information (which is good for the conference by the way). The emails sent quarterly makes it easier to share the information with our members. We are able to print important information for announcements/events etc.

Most of the fellowship is not aware of the Box and although as of now, there doesn’t seem to be any restrictions to who can have access to the Box, it is not easy to navigate. We have many members who prefer to keep it simple.

WSOB 2024-02 pre-Conf 2024

Maggie M. CA UK

I am hoping somewhere along the way it could be taken seriously and looked at that conference can become hybrid or online only how would I get this voted on and up for discussion please yours truly a very grateful CA member
