CLOSING REPORT
C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2013
Information Technologies Committee
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS
Our fellowship continues to grow and utilize new and emerging technologies to assist us in communicating and conducting business, and most importantly to assist in our efforts to carry the message. In addition to assisting the CAWSO Webservant in reviewing websites for linking from www.ca.org, your IT Committee continues actively researching and advising on new technologies.
All Lls of our C.A. service structure continue to explore new options for communication and organization in an effort to improve financial efficiency and better inform our membership.
We remain mindful, respecting the principles set forth in the Twelve Traditions while considering these new capabilities for connection and access.

REFERRALS OR ITEMS REFERRED TO OTHER COMMITTEES; WORLD SERVICE OFFICE, OR BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Referral 7325 – Patrick P, CALA – To create an app that is proprietary to CA that offers anyone worldwide to find a meeting, event, Area or District.
This referral was given to the World Service Office Board.
REFERRALS THAT DID NOT RESULT IN MOTIONS
Referral 7133 – Jason L from UK – Please consider the provision of file storage and online access for the use of World Service Boards and Conference Committees. This to replace our current reliance on yahoo groups and google sites etc.
Currently, CAWS Boards and Conference Committees are accessing Yahoo, Google, and/or Skype to share information throughout the year. As the IT Committee, we have currently found no conflict with the CA Traditions or IT Guidelines in regards with using these services. These are secure and reliable services, they make international communication very feasible and at no cost to the fellowship. As the fellowship grows and expands, it would be nice to obtain proprietary programs and hardware, but it is not financially prudent at this time.

CLOSING COMMENTS
We have worked hard as a committee this year to address the requests and concerns of the fellowship as they relate to our area of responsibility. The IT Committee continues to host quarterly meetings via teleconference, as well as our regular communications pertaining to the review of websites and other matters via the Yahoo group.
This past year we have worked on and discussed a variety of subjects, including methods and tools for reviewing foreign language website translations, World Service Office infrastructure ideas and methods to improve workflow and communications.
We look forward to assisting the new WSO Webservant by reviewing requested web sites for linking from www.ca.org.
We will continue to review Area websites and continue to look for ways to improve IT Guidelines as driven by technology and fellowship needs.
Respectfully Submitted:
Michele D, Chair WSITC Committee
