PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
In September 2004 the PI Committee established an online email group in order` to conduct business until the next Conference. For those members unable to participate online we kept in touch via the telephone as often as possible. As can happen sometimes between Conferences a couple of members resigned there positions for personal reasons. That resulted in the Committee electing a new Chair, Vice-Chair and Co-Secretaries. With continued support from our Trustee, Jackie S, we were able to continue with business as usual during this transitional period. During our meeting at the CAWS 2005 in Memphis, TN. we had a huge turnout and recruited some valuable new members that will be joining us at this Conference.

REFERRALS THAT WERE WORKED UPON DURING THE YEAR:
Immediately after the Conference we began work on some minor housekeeping issues with the Fact File and Public Information Workbook. Post-Conference referrals that the Committee worked on throughout the year involved looking into changing our PI literature reflecting our cultural and global diversity. Two of our Committee Members have been gathering information regarding changing the new Escape Cocaine Poster to accurately reflect the ethnic diversity of our fellowship. As this is a sensitive issue within our Fellowship, we are still looking
for the most cost-effective way of implementing these changes. Finally, we have been working throughout the year on assembling the data from the last surveys. We are taking special care to

make sure that the information portrayed in our Fact File is carefully assembled and accurately portrayed to the community.
CLOSING COMMENTS:
The Public Information Committee develops, initiates, and plans the means of communication to the public, which is presented to the Conference for Fellowship Approval. This is an exciting time to be a part of the PI Committee as we open our arms to the world. Please come and join us as we carry the message of CA to the addict that is still suffering
