INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
The WSC Convention Committee met once during the 2005 CAWS Convention in Memphis and developed a Yahoo group to facilitate our work throughout the year.
Since the 2004 Conference we have:

- Selected the Steering committee for CAWS 2006 and CAWS 2008
- Worked with the WSO to request and review bids for 2009
- Established an ad hoc committee to review bids and initiated the development of a process for substantiating bids prior to presentation on the Conference floor
- Discussed the development of internal guidelines
Ms. Patty will provide a brief overview on CAWS 2005 in Memphis.
Walter Johnson will provide a brief update on the CAWS 2006 in Houston.
Ellen Ulhig will provide a brief update on the CAWS 2007 in Kansas City.
CAWS 2008 Report – Utah
We received bids for CAWS 2009 from Colorado and Milwaukee which will be presented to the conference floor. In order to use the Conference time wisely and to allow the members of the Conference sufficient time to review and discuss the proposals for CAWS 2009, the WSC Convention Committee will now ask the Areas placing bids to make their presentations to the floor. Copies of the bids are being distributed to the floor for review prior to voting. Please hang on to these copies because they will not be distributed again during the voting process.
