CONFERENCE REPORT
C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2025
HOSPITALS & INSTITUTIONS REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND COMMENTS:
Greetings everyone! Thank you all for your service to our wonderful fellowship! I am extremely grateful for my fellow H&I committee members! Over the past 11 months, we were fortunate to accomplish most of the tasks & goals that were presented to us. Our Committee as well as our Subcommittees were able to meet monthly via zoom which provided a fluid correspondence collectively. As a committee we were able to revise our internal guidelines in order to solidify our roles within. We were able to do a much needed housecleaning of closing out older referrals that had previously been left unanswered. We were able to receive emails and letters from various jails, prisons, hospitals and treatment centers that needed our assistance thanks to our WSO. When received, my vice chair and I would coordinate with the appropriate sub-committee to address the specific request in a timely manner. The first half of the year we had limited participation from various regions. Our Outreach Chair took the initiative to reach out to those regions & invited them to join our monthly meetings in order for us to get a gauge of what was going on in their respective areas. As a result, we have had great participation and input from those regions. Essentially, that’s what our committee is about. Getting together to brainstorm & to see what’s working and where we can be helpful to areas that are struggling.

Further, that each committee/board determines that their current files/documents etc confirm to the naming convention.

Response: Referral was discussed and we determined that as H&I is a Conference Committee, we look to follow the guidelines of the previous H&I Committees, the Conference guidelines and suggestions such as this one. If and when the Conference Guidelines include naming conventions for the Conference’s subcommittees, we will follow that. Closed Referral.
#14810394 Individual Submission, Pre-Conference
To have a link/download on CA.org for H&I meeting formats available.
Response: This referral has been addressed there currently are H&I meeting formats present on CA.org. Closed Referral.
#14735266 Individual Submission, Pre-conference
I know we used to receive and respond to correspondence from prisons and I know we have lifeline. Have we thought about possibly setting up a prison sponsorship committee? I am the FACA H&I chair person and I was planning on setting a prison sponsorship subcommittee in Florida but after some consideration and guidance I don’t think the timing is right with the amount of things going on in
Florida over the next few years. We don’t currently have the resources to plan and implement. That being said I think this could be worked at with the world H&I committee. I’ve done quite a bit of research and leg work on it already so I would be more than willing to answer any questions or give more details on the idea.
Response: We discussed as a committee and decided to not pursue the possibility of providing prison sponsorships. Once a correspondence from a facility gets to our committee, we discuss and delegate the correspondence to an appropriate area H&I where the letter has been sent from. Closed Referral.
#13479576 Individual Submission, Pre-conference
To create specific suggestions and guidelines for virtual H&I meetings. Response: There is an online meeting format located in the CA H&I World Service Guidelines on page 26 Referral Closed.
#12702639 Individual Submission, Pre-conference
I would like H&I Committee to create an orientation packet for H&I Secretaries. Response: This referral was addressed and fulfilled. H&I orientation packet was created. Closed Referral.

PRESENTATIONS OF CURRENT ACTIVITIES OR TASKS (no motions)
Currently we are working on growing our committee. We are doing that by reaching out to areas including CA UK to join our efforts in being of service to as many people as possible. We continue to receive letters and referrals from inmates which we share literature and have open communication with. We want to collaborate with PI and create a strong partnership to continue reaching the addicts and alcoholics that need us the most.
CLOSING COMMENTS:
As the journey of helping build the fellowship of CA continues, we look forward to continuing to serve our respective districts, areas, & regions with enthusiasm! We are grateful to be on the frontline of service in this capacity! I speak on behalf of all of the members of the World H&I Committee when I say yes, we are truly grateful for being one part of many facets that keeps this thing of ours going & growing. We’re looking forward to whatever tasks lie ahead for us! Thank you for allowing us to be of service!
Respectfully Submitted:
