INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
The H&I Committee has been busy this past year continuing to try and better service the H&I people around the world. We have developed a new survey to help us understand how H&I is being used in our different Areas and Districts, and to also see where we can work to improve this vital process of sharing the message to the newcomers in facilities. The committee came up with a Life Line pamphlet which is in this year’s SR14 to go through the approval process. The reasoning behind doing the pamphlet is that the Life Line concept is not used in very many areas so we are trying to educate on how simple it is and how well it works. We have done some housekeeping in our guidelines updating terminology and such. All that being said there is still a lot of necessary work to continue. It’s been an honor and privilege to chair this committee this year and I would like to thank all the members listed below.

REFERRALS THAT WERE WORKED ON DURING THE YEAR:
The WSC H&I Committee had one referral this past year H&I 2017-1 Which was asking if H&I would consider doing online H&I meetings. The committee responded that we would be happy to if we knew the logistics on how to start one as of now some areas communicate with inmates via email but no meet per se. The committee has passed it back to the Online Service Area Committee for help and collaboration.
