COMMITTEE WORK THAT RESULTED IN MOTIONS None
(Conference Co-Secretary RL note – This motion was not brought to the Conference Floor. It was actually an internal committee motion. The budget was increased, but not increased by so much that it was necessary to bring it to the Conference Floor.)
MOTION: I would like to make a motion to accept the Conference Committee budget.
REFERRALS THAT DID NOT RESULT IN MOTIONS

Referral #CFC2014-5
We stopped reading referrals and responses into the mic to save time. But it seems like a lot of what is being read into the transcripts now is fluff, at least in the opening reports. Not that service workers shouldn’t be appreciated and not that I am not thankful for them. It’s just that at times it felt like we were attending an awards show and listening to acceptance speeches. I feel that addressing the referrals would be far more important than all the speeches. Not sure if there really is a solution to this, but felt strongly that I needed to say something so it can be considered in committee.
Response:
Thank you for your referral. We discussed this at great length in the committee and discussed the points of available floor time and having conference members informed. We have decided on balance to leave the system the way it is. The conference has always permitted their long serving members some leeway in this regard.

REFERRALS OR ITEMS TABLED UNTIL NEXT YEAR; AND ITEMS THE COMMITTEE WILL CONTINUE WORKING ON THROUGH THE YEAR
Referral #CFC2014-2
Dear Conference Committee, I am writing regarding the new online referral process. Thank you for all your efforts in moving this process forward. I would like confirmation that a referral number and a confirmation of receipt email are sent to the submitter of the referral when using this process. I am sure I am about to find out. However, if this submission process does not include an automated confirmation of receipt including a generated referral number (or some kind of tracking number) then please accept this submission as a referral requesting that such action is considered and implement. Referral NO 2 (in addition to above) please note that the phone number field is not internationally friendly, even when using the +44 prefix for the UK. Please could you address this and place an explanatory note near the phone field to help the end user (I have used the CAWSO Office number so I am able to submit the form). Please consider that the hotel room number box cannot be filled in before delegates or other members arrive at conference. Furthermore, members may not want to share their room number or telephone number and should still be afforded the opportunity to submit the form (I have had to use a fictional number 164 in the hotel box to be allowed to submit the form.) Kindest Regard Look forward to seeing you at Conference Maria M CAUK Delegate
Response:
Thank you for your referral. All of your points will be implemented by next conference.

Can we get a guidebook for the conference to save money and earth?
Response:
Thank you for your referral. We will research throughout the year for possible implementation.
REFERRALS OR ITEMS REFERRED TO OTHER COMMITTEES; WORLD SERVICE OFFICE, OR BOARD OF TRUSTEES

brilliant. We will be working out the kinks over the upcoming year and again, want to thank you for helping us be a little more Earth-friendly and stream lining the process.
Please take a moment to fill out the evaluation form; we want to know your thoughts on how we can make the Conference even better for you.
I would like to take this moment to thank the Conference Committee for making this job amazing for me. We work closely together, we care about each other and take care of one another. We have a good time doing our job and taking care of the Conference is our priority.
It’s such an honor and a privilege for me to serve on this committee. The experience and love I get from my fellow members is unlike anything I have ever felt. It allows me to go back to my area with a renewed energy and appreciation for this wonderful fellowship. Thank you to the committee for giving me this amazing gift.
In Love and Service, Barbara N
WSC Conference Committee Chair and
The Entire Conference Committee.

Tony D – Any questions to the center mike, please.

Trevor S – I will start asking for them ASAP. Be great to have before you leave here.
Stu E – Talked about a number of things to turn us ‘green.’ Are you considering different apps for iPads and such?
Barbara N – Yes.
John M – About the on-line referral system, it doesn’t work in the UK properly.
Tony D – We are aware of a couple issues and those are being addressed.
John W – All of the paperwork we get here, will all these reports be downloadable from an app? Tony D – We are looking into that, thanks.
Tony D – Seeing no more questions, please thank the committee. Unity is next.
