- Internet Committee Report –David LaBell, Chair of the World Service Conference Internet
- David L.: The Internet Committee is responsible for matters relating to the creation, update and maintenance of the Area and or District websites, in accordance with the World Service Conference Internet Committee Workbook and Guidelines.
- Last year, the Internet Committee did, among other things, set a policy and protocol in place to help deal with non-compliant websites that are currently linked, or petitioning to be linked to our fellowship’s website, cavort. We also created a policy to provide for emergency de-linking of sites that are in violation of our Traditions. We have no referrals carried forward from last year. This year we will be addressing many items of concern to the fellowship regarding the Internet, and policies and procedures necessary to ensure Cocaine Anonymous is Traditions compliant, continuing presence, thereon.
- John R: You mentioned non-compliance sites. Were there many this year?
- David: Yes, there were a few. Some had links to outside organizations. Those sites were notified and the links were removed.
- Angela: When we’re finding these links, what are doing to help keep them inclusive, rather than just not linking them anymore? Are we helping to bring them into compliance, and then continue to keep them linked, so we’re bringing them into the fellowship?
- David: We established a policy last year to deal with this issue, which are addressed in our manual. We do work with the local Webmaster to help them bring their sites into compliance

with our guidelines. We also created an emergency policy, such as a site that their page has advertising, music without the permission of the artist, pornography, etc.
- Nancy C.: Will there be a template of sorts to follow so that other areas can basically copy and change the name?
- David L.: There currently is a “kit” available, and I am putting in a referral to address this a bit more. You can’t find it from the general site…you have to ask for specific directions.
