Cocaine Anonymous is a public information organization. It is the job of the P! Committee to provide you with many of the resources necessary to carry the message out to your communities.

New PI posters in English, Spanish, French, Swedish, & Dutch are now available for download from the CA web site!! We have also started the process of developing a new PSA which promises to be a representation of our all inclusive and culturally diverse fellowship. Members of our committee also conducted a Public Information workshop at the 2007 World Convention. The PI Survey went out to the fellowship earlier this year and we very much look forward to compiling this information at this Conference, We would like to thank all the delegates for encouraging their Areas to participate in the survey.

We were very saddened to hear that our previous Committee Chairperson, Billy Humphries, passed away in January of this year.

Change the 2007-2008 membership survey “What steps have you worked or are you working on?” to the way it was in the 2003-2004 survey “none, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9lh, 10th, 11th, 12th, all.”

Correct Survey inconsistencies in the areas of Age 18, 18-24 should be 18, IQ- 24 and 45-65, 65+ should be 45-65, 66+ to be consistani

More or less on Ethnicity: For more add more choices that are not American specific. For less; have a fill in your own ethnic.

Change step working on are to be more generic to either the way they are in the Big Book 1,2,3 4,5,6, 7,8.9, 10,11,12 All or generic 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, All.

Regarding the Survey: Please consider that ethnic terms that are politically correct in the U.S. may be incorrect or even offensive internationally. It’s not all about America.

Change the ethnicity in the 2007-2008 membership survey to “cauc/european” to separate “Caucasian” & “European” and “African Amer” to “Black” “African American.”

To update the PI Workbook – particularly the form letters which are drug specific to cocaine. Also, to reformat for aesthetics!

That a new PI Publication be created for pass-it-ons to assist the Fellowship in their efforts to carry the message.

This referral is beyond the scope of what the PI Workbook is intended to provide.

CLOSING COMMENTS:

PI Committees are generally the first responders to any requests from the public for information about Cocaine Anonymous, Hotlines, web sites, and flyers are all forms of public information, it is especially important during this time of great international growth that we have the ability to offer PI materials in various languages. Please come to the PI Committee if you feel you have lot of ideas and enthusiasm for helping spread the message of CA in every language.

We have received several thousand surveys and we need your help to compile this information. We need your help!! If you have shown up here this week to be of service as a non-voting member, we need you. If you are on a committee that has a light work load, we would love your help when your own committee work is completed.

Anyone interested in helping to reach out and touch the world with information concerning Cocaine Anonymous is very much encouraged to come participate in Public Information!
