- Treasurer’s Report – Given by Joy H.
As you know, we had a tight year. We had a shortfall of funds; C&L were off $100K from projection. At that time, we tightened our belts, and used real income for our guide. We are 20K below. We have not transferred additional funds since that time. If you note on your balance sheet 30K. 25K is book reserve,
The office board has approved an internal budget. Our plan is to remain within income. The internal budget has carved out accounting upgrades. We have created a wish list. These items will only be purchased if donated. As noted, the budget passed on the floor last year had an 84K deficit. I was aware at the mid-year financials…
I have resigned from this position. I have been battling this decision for a year now. This has kept me sober, and I’m leaving on September 3rd. I will still make myself available until a new treasurer has been found. (See her report)
- Kevin Murphy: NewsGram is now in color. Patrick Potter is the art director, so if you have any feedback, please see him. We do need submissions, though. Every quarter we do a new tradition, steps, concepts. We would like any articles for October 1st. If you do submit something, there is a release form you need to fill out, otherwise we can’t print it. You can drop off any submissions to Kevin while you are here. We usually get a few submissions, a half dozen or so a quarter, which is barely enough to fill up the NewsGram. If you want to see your name in here, all you have to do is send your submission to newsgram@ca.org or mail it into the office on disk, preferably. We’re asking each region to have a NewsGram editor to promote submissions from each region. Please talk to your regional trustee for more information on that position.

CAWS Convention in NY, we talked about making some changes to our website.
It was okayed for me to start a website committee, so now I have help with this. I am looking for two more people to assist with the French speaking and Spanish speaking sides of our website. We changed servers twice this year in an effort to save money. We are looking at online merchant capabilities. We have included forms for you to fill out for convention information for your areas. Please go back to your areas and check that information and get it to me. There is a trustee form and a starter kit request form as well. Future forms will be delegate registration and group registration. We have this great forum – we should use it! I’ll be adding a form to the French section for any language corrections. One of our upcoming projects is the ability to purchase chips and lit. Online. We’re working with our server to establish credit card capability and merchant capability. It will include on-line registration capability for the CAWS convention. All information is downloadable into the same format as the office’s accounting system.
