- Finance –Phil Landau
Last year the committee broke with tradition and presented a deficit budget for the 2001-2002 year. The committee came to the floor at 1:00 AM. Due to the time and exhaustion of the conference, there weren’t many questions. There were the next morning. Patty and Joy talked a lot about budget income. You can’t buy anything with it. Previous administrations practiced voodoo economics were practiced by previous committees. This gave us an unrealistic

picture. We projected a realistic decrease in income, and because of this we asked committees, etc. to decrease their budgets. We will spend 75,000 more than we will take in, if we proceeded like normal. For a period, we did have to draw on our prudent reserve. There have been cross the board reductions. There are committees that year after year spend less than 500 dollars, yet still have quite large budget numbers. I encourage all of you to work with the finance committee to bring a realistic budget to the floor this Conference. Questions?
- Chair: Thank you for your report.
