WORLD SERVICE BOARD OF TRUSTEES COMMITTEE REPORT

Barry Ha – spoke of the report in the BOX of it being a summary of the work they have done throughout the year. There was a lot of work done with various different committees. belief that CA is in the best position that it has ever been in. Several trustees are rolling out this year and he gave acknowledgement to those persons.

Conference floor prior to distribution, with the exception of financial budgets.

Chris – MOTION 6: Add new language to the WSM, page 65, section World Service Board of Trustee, sub-section TEC Guidelines For The Election Process, new Point 12.

12. If a candidate from the proposed Trustee Slate is not ratified by the WSC, then the TEC will go back into deliberation regarding the trustee slate in question.

12. 13. Once the candidate has been selected, it is the responsibility of the TEC Chairperson to first notify those candidates that are not selected for the position that they were not selected. After all candidates not chosen have been notified, the TEC Chair will inform the chosen candidate. After all candidates have been notified, the new trustee will be announced to the Conference floor.

Will someone be elected by the end of conference?

Chirs. M – if they aren’t ratified, they go back into deliberations. Yes.

Steve P – question – you go back into deliberations, at what point do you go back into deliberations?

Chris M. – someone that has been out of that slate will go back into the slate and we will go back to the person who has not been ratified.

Chris M. – this conference gets one opportunity to ratify this slate.

Parthi T. question: is the slate – does that include all or per region?

Chris M. – the committee will go in and present the entire slate.

Jason L. question – do the TEC look at the slate that has been put through the region before the slate is ratified here? Chris M. Yes.

Russell S Prepare to vote:

Motion 6 passes with substantial unanimity.

Barry Ha – Motion 7: The long form of the twelve concepts of cocaine anonymous has been used without permission by the fellowship of cocaine anonymous and the use of the long form of the twelve concepts of cocaine anonymous shall cease, effective immediately.

Jason L – Mr. Chairperson, this doesn’t appear to be in the SR14 mailing, are you okay with this going out today?

Russell S – yes, the wording has changed, but we believe that we still need to be meet the requirement of AA’s change and the intent of the motion remains the same.

Robert B Point of Order – that is not the process, it does not apply to the concepts, just to the traditions and the steps.

Russell S this motion is in order.

Jason L – this motion is out of order due to article 10 of the conference charter.

Russell S. calls the motion out of order under Standing Rule 13. We need to allow the World Service Board of Trustee’s the opportunity to evaluate the concerns or to update AA that this is being addressed at this conference.

Russell S – stands by his ruling. It’s been considered for several days. We have to find a way forward for the legalities. I have concerns under Standing Rule 13 and they are structural and should have gone to Structure & Bylaws. They can still achieve what they need to achieve with us notifying AA of our changes.

Russell S – making a ruling. I spoke with Barry and Gary, going to the motion to end debate out order. There needs to be more debate, due to the substance of the motion and the severity of the requirement. This is being called out of order. Back into debate.

Barry ha – this can be catastrophic for ramifications, and financially unknown.
