CONFERENCE COMMITTEE REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
Welcome to the 2013 World Service Conference. The theme this year is:
“United We Stand, Divided We Fall.”
Conference committee has been working all year to get prepared, organized and ready for you. We want to provide the best possible service to all of the attendees of the Conference as well as keeping Delegates informed of issues affecting CA as a whole. Our Committee has been working tirelessly since the close of the Conference in September of 2012. We meet by phone every month, or more than once a month when necessary. We also met informally in Florida at the World Service Convention.

- A review of the Evaluations of the 2012 Conference
- Completion of the “After Conference Report” for distribution to the delegates/fellowship and posting to website
- Distribution of Conference minutes distributed to delegates/fellowship
- Review of Conference transcripts
- Review of Closing Report vs. Final Conference Report
- Preparation and distribution of Summary of Motions
- Committee review of responsibilities and participation of committee members
- Approval of all revised Conference forms ie: registration, proxy, etc.
- Approval of responses to Post Conference Referrals
- Method of ensuring that all items prepared by the Conference Committee are included in mailing, including SR-14 mailing

This committee has worked hard all year; I am appreciative of my mentors and everyone who stepped up to help out.
Our “post-conference” referrals were addressed and are included in this report:
Post-Conference Referral Responses:
Referral #6837
Consider closing Conference Saturday. We have been closing early for a few years now. This could save CA considerable funds and likewise the Area’s that send delegates.
RESPONSE: The Conference Chair sets the agenda each year for the Conference. This year’s Chair has addressed this referral; and the result is that the Conference is starting one day later; on Wednesday –the outcome will be revealed.
Referral #6940
Please add a duty to the Vice Chair’s duties to review all subcommittee reports prior to printing and presenting them on the floor. This would ensure reports were completed properly and avoid wasting valuable floor time.

RESPONSE: Committee motioned to refer this to S&B.
The current Vice Chair will be available this year to assist with reports.
Referral #7114
That the Conference Co-Coordinator position be a funded/budgeted position=no longer should that person have to serve at the World level and pay their own way. No one else is asked to do so at this level. This needs to be changed please.
RESPONSE: The Committee is addressing this in committee for consideration.
CLOSING COMMENTS:
The Conference Officers and the Conference Committee are excited to be here and work with you this week to create a successful 2013 World Service Conference. If you have any questions or concerns during the conference, please see myself, Lori Penrose, or Susan Loth. As a reminder, we are seeking and encouraging all members to join and serve on this committee. Being a member of this committee is exciting and rewarding.
Thank you, Barbara N – Conference Committee Chair.
