OLD BUSINESS
-Pricing of merchandise & Freight/Handling charges. KD presented figures (which are hereby included as part of these minutes) that show our profit percentage to be very high on books and literature but very low on chips and medallions.
Motion: To raise the price of plastic chips from .25 C to .35 cents and the price of metal coins from $1.50 to $2.00. Seconded. PASSED.
Motion: To announce the price change of chips and coins at the upcoming CAWS Conference to become effective October 1, 1996. Seconded.
PASSED.
We also estimated that, based on figures presented, that we are losing money every time we ship an order. So far, for the first six months of 1996, we have lost $10,000 in shipping and handling. There is every reason to believe that, without immediate changes to the current pricing structure, we will lose another $10,000 by the end of the year. UPS prices have gone up numerous times without our reflecting that in our shipping costs, and the handling fees factored into our S & H charges are not realistic at all any more.
It was the general consensus that, based on the figures presented, our average order is around $200 and our average shipping cost per order is somewhere around

$18.00. Discussions centered around whether or not to separate the shipping fees from the handling fees, and how to effectively raise ail freight charges so as to recoup our costs without making it prohibitive to the groups placing smaller orders. Numerous suggestions were considered.
Motion: To change the current shipping & handling schedule to shipping only and add $3.00 to each charge as it already exists, then add a $7.95 per order handling charge. Seconded. FAILED.
Motion: To raise the current Shipping & Handling schedule by a percentage to be determined based on forthcoming data. Seconded. FAILED.
Motion: To change the Shipping & Handling fee schedule as follows:
| $0 – $200 | 10% (before discount) |
| $200 – $500 | 8% (before discount) |
| $500- $1,000 | 7% (before discount) |
| $1,000 – $2,000 | 6% (before discount) |
| $2,000 and up | 5% (before discount) |
Seconded. PASSED with one abstention.
Motion: To announce these changes at the upcoming CAWS Conference to be come effective October 1, 1996. Seconded. PASSED with one abstention.
KD to develop separate price lists and order forms (To-do List). Motion: To adjourn at 10:04 PM. Seconded. PASSED.
MEETING ADJOURNED at PM with the Serenity Prayer.
Respectfully submitted,
Chuck McCollum
