Trustee Reports (See Attachment B)
Atlantic North Region Trustee (George)
- Jason asked that all Regional Trustees track the number of meetings (virtual/hybrid) and number of delegates for each Area.
Atlantic South Region Trustee (Chris)
- On ca.org the smaller Areas that do not have websites, don’t have a link so meetings are not listed.
European Region Trustee (Sarah)
- South Africa is trying to re-register their corporation but they need to be aware that Cocaine Anonymous cannot be in the name per WSM.
Mainland Europe Region Trustee (Johan)
Russia still waiting on translations.
Midwest Region Trustee (Clay)
Pacific North Region Trustee (Ruby)
Pacific South Region Trustee (Aurora)
South West region Trustee (Barry)
Trustee at Large 1 (Jason)
World Service Office Trustee (Laurie)
- Jason wants to know what backup is available to Jonathan when reviewing financials.
- We need to review the prudent reserve policy to ensure it is adequate. Current policy is to have 3 months operating expense as prudent reserve. Is that enough
Page 5 of 217
to cover disaster relief if the office burned down? We need to think about what would happen if the office were wiped out.
World Service Trustee (Joni)
Motion to accept Trustee Reports made and seconded, passed unanimously.
WSBT Subcommittee Reports (See Attachment C)
(Lead member listed first)
External Communications (Jason/Clay)
Finance (Laurie/Aurora/All)
International Structure and Development (Johan/Sarah/Ruby/Laurie/Jason)
Legal (Joni/Barry)
- Global C.A. App – Need to further research copyright requirements in U.S. and also internationally. Joni will do further research on the requirements and the benefits to determine the best, most cost-effective path forward. For all marks for emerging Areas we have cost analysis using Madrid Protocol. Joni to further research renewal costs in 10 years and the pros and cons of registration and a recommendation as to which marks to register.
Motion to send the cease and desist letter to All Fellowships Anonymous incorporating agreed to revisions. Passed unanimously
Long-term Planning (Clay/Chris/All)
NewsGram (Ruby/Chris)
- Yves has been the NewsGram Editor since rolling off WSBT. How do we go about finding another editor? We need to make sure that no other Areas are using the title off NewsGram as the title is copyright protected.
Orientation (Sarah/Clay/All)
- We need to ensure Conference Committee reimbursements information is included in the orientation documents.
- The WSBT has previously agreed to require any Conference Committee expenses of $250 or more must be approved by the Trustee on the committee.
TEC (Sarah/Clay)
All resumes and questions have been printed and are ready. Total cost for printing was $190. We need to look at print cost vs. budget for next year. New Chair of TEC is Clay P., Vice-Chair is Johan T.
TNC (Joni/Johan/Clay/Laurie/Jason)
- We need to look at the requirements for the Conference Committee
- Storage Contract. We also need to review the Conference Contract for 2023-2025 to ensure the WSBT and TEC room night and meeting room needs are sufficiently covered.
Trustee Outreach (Jason/Sarah)
World Service Conference (Barry/Aurora)
Motion to accept Conference Committee Reports made and seconded. Passed unanimously.
WSBT Conference Committee Reports (See Attachment D)
(Lead member listed first)
Archive (Ruby/Joni)
- Process of backing up all the Archives, Cameron F. has all backups. WSBT needs training on database process for Archives.
Conference (Clay/Laurie)
- Conference Committee travel expenses over $250 must be signed off by Trustee. Expenses are being submitted to the office and WSO is not forwarding to Trustee.
- Delegate mailing is planned for mid-November by Conference Committee. This doesn’t seem reasonable. We have minutes, WSOB minutes, and after conference reports that need to be sent out.
Convention (Sarah/Chris)
Finance (Laurie/Aurora)
- The Finance Committee is bringing a motion to increase the bequeath limit to $50,000. This limit is near the limit for influencing authority.
Hospitals & Institutions (Clay/Barry)
What is the committee doing? Prison requests are not coming in as before. Can H&I take more proactive role in communicating with prisons to get C.A. information out there?
Information Technologies (Johan/Joni)
Literature, Chips & Formats (Jason/Barry)
- 12 & 12 book project work is progressing. WSBT needs to complete the review of the 12 Traditions/Concepts pamphlet.
Motion to postpone the approval of the C.A. Concepts Inventory pamphlet as the WSBT believe in part it’s too similar to AA’s 12 Concept Checklist and as such needs approval from AA for adaptation. In addition, there are a number of items the WSBT believe need to be addressed in accordance with our comments, in particular, reference to special workers and Standing Rule 13. Passed unanimously.
Public Information (George/Chris)
- The committee attended NADCP and came in under budget. C.A. had 2 speakers. They collected contact information for 85 individuals. The Chair of NADCP subcommittee was struggling as they felt the event has become more of a vendor event now. The recovery aspect has dwindled. There are still court and law enforcement attending. Ruby believes NADCP does allow us to get our information out, and that this is invaluable although hard to quantify the value. Johan wondered if a description of NADCP can be provided to European Region, suggests we put something in the Newsgram. Chris M. volunteered to find someone in his area to write an article. The ASR has been working with NADCP on a local level and has had great success.
- PI is bringing PSA to Conference Floor.
- The EUPI report has some incorrect information. Suggest that the report be reviewed and revised, as it is inaccurate.
Structure & Bylaws (Sarah/Johan)
Unity (George/Ruby)

Hello,
I was wondering if I could get a pdf of the 2019 Fact File, as I do not have a Box account and the images here (https://pi.ca.org/fact-file-survey/) are not particularly readable? Dr. Edgar P. Nace was hoping to use the information in the upcoming ASAM textbook.
Thank you,

At our most recent board meeting while discussing the subject I mentioned how well my CA plastic CA keytag/chips have held up over the years. I still have my 15, 18 and 19 year chips, and they all look great! I was tasked with reaching out to CA and asking if we could be put in touch with the vendor for the CA chips.

Subject West Inland Empire attempt to to take over parts of our area.
Your Message CAWS members, I am the treasurer of the IEACA. Our board learned yesterday of an attempt by the West Inland Empire to change it’s boundaries by taking over some of the IEACA’s meeting areas. Our Delegates failed to mention this to our Area and now the Conference is in nine days. I am asking the CAWS Board to not consider their request at this time. Tradition Four states that each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting CA as a whole. This is directly

affecting our area of CA as a whole. I do not understand why the Delegates or the Trustee did not bring this to our Area meeting. Please, even if this matter is tabled till the next conference, that would assist us in putting together what we need. It is impossible for our Area to do this in 9 days.
Thank you,
Lynne A.

Our Delegates and the Trustee failed to inform the IEACA of this attempt. It is now 9 days till the Conference and there is no time for our Area to do it’s due diligence and fight this attempt by West Inland Empire. This action would cause harm to our Area and to the Addicts we serve.
