  2. Starter Kit Follow-ups — Meredith (Joint Board Meeting)
  3. WSBT Officer Selection Procedure — Amy

  2. Policy on Hope, Faith & Courage International Sales — Meredith
  3. WSBT Minutes Distribution — Amy, Andy
  4. Referral 003 – Getting the long form of the Twelve Traditions written and approved for use at meeting, district, area and world levels as to give clarity of the traditions. The WSBT has already requested AA approval, and is still waiting to hear from AA World Services. WSBT to contact AA Trustees with another request. We have been unable to get permission from AA General Sendee. WSBT to pursue other avenues. Complete.
  5. Referral 066 – To make available the video presentation shown at the 1999 CAWS Convention in Milwaukee for Public Information and LI&I use. Trustee legal committee — copyright issues concerning the use of the music and people’s faces. No new information.
  1. Fundraising – Leon – Referred to Conference Convention Meeting.
  2. WSO, WSBT, Host City Committee Relationship Concern with improving the relationship between all parties. The WSO rep could attend the Committee meetings more frequently, along with the Regional Trustee. Also have WSO Treasurer come out to meeting and explain procedures. Could be done on an as needed basis. Concern with the actual profit versus the price the fellowship/host city pays as a result of the strained relationship between the WSO/WSBT/Host City. It is quite apparent of the good to the fellowship as a whole, with the Convention providing a chance for 1500 addicts to get together. Need a more clear report of the finances (profit) made as a result of the convention. It may be time for the WSO to take over the convention completely. Need more communication from Committee via Regional Trustee to WS Trustee, rather than Committee Chair to WSOB Chair, to facilitate communications. Noted that concerns with previous Convention Committees seem to be lost in the year to year transition from host city to host city. Committee to work

on communications & procedures relating to WSOB, WSBT & host city committee: Joe, Hal & Amy. Will add to “TRUSTEE TO DO LIST” to be discussed at next meeting on Old Business.

We recommend that the Trustee attend as many meetings as possible. An adequate budget is provided for the Regional Trustee to attend Convention Meetings. Connection with NY host meeting appears to being going more smoothly. Use accounting software provided by WSO. Generate enthusiasm through electronic communication. Provide minutes to WSBT and WSOB and members of the subsequent convention committees. Leave on Old Business.

  1. Trustee Bulletins on Web Site — Leon. Could have a place on web site for decisions and procedures. As we develop more ways to organize the archives, etc., at least the delegates could look up information, along with the WS Manual, in .pdf form, which could be downloaded. Need to get with Webmaster John to see how much space is availab 1 e on the CA web page. Would like to see a WSBT web page linked to CA web page, with Minutes, Action notices, Regional Sections, Trustee mailboxes, etc. Leon will look into logistics. Would like to see the WSBT maintain the web page. Could tie in with the TEC tor things to look for, but can’t be exclusionary. Leon & Hal & Walter are willing to get together to work on recommendations. Will add to “TRUSTEE TO DO LIST” to be discussed at next meeting on Old Business.

Leon will work with John the Web Master to get Trustee Corner on CA.org Website and include last 4-Quarterly Trustee Board Meeting Minutes by the next Quarterly Meeting.

  1. TEC — Walter. Amy and Walter have devised a selection to read prior to each interview. Follow up will be allowed in the form of neutral questions. Instructions to be read prior to each interview will lie submitted to the TEC for approval at the end of year 2000 Trustee Election Procedure.
  2. Special Interest Meetings & Groups at CAWS Convention — Amy & Joe Tabled. Leave on Old Business.

MOTION MADE have all special interest groups get their own meeting space at their own expense at all C.A.W.S. Conventions.

MOTION WITHDRAWN. Keep on Old Business.

Next meeting scheduled tor August 29, 2000, at 9:00 a.m.

ITEMS TO BE REFERRED

  1. Although CA is not affiliated with Co Anon, we recognize we have a special relationship and would like to cooperate with CoAnon in any way possible, without compromising our traditions. The WSBT recommends the Conference Convention Committee implement a policy regarding CoAnon registration at CAWS Conventions and CoAnon involvement in CAWS Convention Committees.

From page 13, Old Business of May 25, 2000 Meeting Minutes

  1. Fundraising — Leon

Questions on opportunity drawings and bingo nights. Would like to refer to Convention Committee. WSBT should issue an opinion that we should not be involved in any gaming activities, i.e., opportunity drawings and bingo. Despite being an easy way to make money, it’s a dangerous way to do so, due to the differing laws in various municipalities.

MOTION PASSED to refer to Conference Convention Committee to bring the following motion to the floor: To keep sales of drawings, raffles, etc. to be sold only on site at CAWSO Conventions, thereby limiting exposure to liability from gaming officials and to comply with local laws and permits. Also keep permits obtained on file at CAWSO, Inc. three (3) months prior to CAWS Convention,
