H&I REPORT

INTRODUCTION AND COMMENTS:

Greetings everyone and thank you all for your service to our wonderful fellowship.

Thank you everyone on the H&I Committee for all your work and dedication this year. It has been a challenge finding people for service, but going forward with that we will make extra effort to invite more of our fellowship to participate.

We continue to apply our efforts in finding ways to help the fellowship continue to carry the message of Hope, Faith and Courage.

We continue to gather H&I information and contact through our Sub Committees; Outreach, Lifeline, Guidelines and Correctional Referrals. We reach potential new members through the NewsGram with our personal stories and experiences, and we have been talking about having a liaison for helping us to reach more members to be of service. We must continue to reach the ones that are incarcerated and in Institutions through Outreach. We must continue to educate our fellowship members through our H&I Guidelines. Our committee will grow with some effort from us in the Committee, and we now have members from all over the world joining our monthly zoom conferences to better understand what our committee is working on, and to assist in those endeavours. It is always an honour to serve this fellowship. The effort and work through this year in this committee is only because we are together, helping each other to grow. So, in closing, I would like to give a big thank you to all of you in this committee, and we are looking forward having more of you join us!

To have a link/download on CA.org for H&I meeting format(s) available.

14735266: Individual Submission

I know we used to receive and respond to correspondence from prisons and I know we have lifeline.

Have we thought about possibly setting up a prison sponsorship committee? I am the FACA H&I chair person and I was planning on setting a prison sponsorship subcommittee in Florida but after some consideration and guidance I don’t think the timing is right with the amount of things going on in Florida over the next few years. We don’t currently have the resources to plan and implement. That being said I think this could be worked at with the world H&I committee. I’ve done quite a bit of research and leg work on it already so I would be more than willing to answer any questions or give more details on the idea.

“To create specific suggestions and guidelines for virtual H&I meetings. Some of the basics are covered in the current H&I Guidelines, however, it would be helpful to have more detailed info. This referral is being made with the hope that the information provided will assist the Virtual Services Subcommittee of the WSCITC in compiling the Virtual Services Handbook. Thank you for your time and consideration!”

12702639: Submission on Behalf of a Committee (H&I)

I would like the H & I Committee to create an orientation for H & I secretaries.

CLOSED REFERRALS: None

PRESENTATIONS OF CURRENT ACTIVITIES OR TASKS

We are continuing update the guidelines and whatever needs to be updated. We are going to have some more zoom online speaker meeting with information of what H&I is all about. We are reaching out to areas to ensure that H&I is a part of their fellowship and how we can support them.

CLOSING COMMENTS:

If you believe in our primary purpose: to carry the message of Hope, Faith and Courage to the addict that still suffers, then H&I is where you belong. If you love working with others, helping people confined to hospitals and institutions, and inspiring hope, then H&I is where you belong.

We need your enthusiasm and commitment in order for this committee to continue to grow.

Thank you all again for all the service this committee and fellowship
