CAWS CONVENTION REPORTS CAWS 2026 (Florida) – Justin C.
Highlights:
- Current Summary-Registration (12/14/2025): Total = 295 (Breakdown unavailable at time of report) Hotel Pickup (12/15/25): 2097 room nights.
- Greetings to all! Less than 6 months remain until CAWS 2026 Convention and we are full steam ahead.
- We offered a FLASH Sale during December which has netted a few more registrations.
- The hotel is still booking rooms but is beginning to probe the limits in asking for historic attrition rates. They are also asking for historic Starbucks hourly sales at CAWS Conventions to justify our request for Starbucks to extend their hours for us.
- We were saddened to hear of the passing of Sarge. Sarge was a beloved member of the Fellowship and was booked as our headline comedian on Sunday night of the convention.
- The Entertainment Committee is discussing options to book either comedy or live band entertainment for that timeslot.
- Decorations committee has really knocked it out of the park with their designs and the amazing banquet centerpieces featuring handmade items that are sure to be in high demand at the table auctions.
- The A/V quote from StevieRay has been approved by the Steering Committee and a CR was submitted to the Spending Committee on 12/17/25.
- Fundraising proceeds are currently at $38,120.25 (includes seed money) with an additional auction revenue of $12,115.00.
- Please note that all financials to follow in this report are only current as of 12/14/25, unless otherwise noted, and do not reflect the total of proceeds accrued since that date.
- All major categories are under budget, with positive variances across the board. No areas of overspending or concern at this stage.
- Randy has made contact with Troy L. and he has assured us that he will assist with the live auction as well as procuring auction items. A member has donated many Motorola radio sets to the Convention and these will be turned over for use at future conventions, a considerable potential savings
- We continue to ask for members of our Service Boards and Committees to please spread the word to their Group/District/Area/Region that we are seeking their support and partnership in our Fundraising efforts.
- We have found a unique way for our Service Board members to directly assist in Fundraising through a “Dunk the Boards” Fundraiser. The WSOB has fully committed to this and we are awaiting confirmation that all the WSBT members will choose to participate as well.
- We have a few more check requests being submitted soon and more to come.
- Thank you each for all that you do. I am so grateful to continue serving as CAWS 2026 Chair, please contact me with any questions or concerns.

CAWS 2027 (Washington) – Nathan H. Highlights:
- Steering/General Committee: Both the committees meet monthly on the last Sunday of each month Zoom.
- The steering committee meets at 8:30 am prior to the general meeting.
- The general committee meets at 9:00 am.
- All Steering Chairs are to be holding downline committee meetings.
- All those who would like access to the CAWS 2027 Dropbox folder, please request access from the Secretary (Devon) and an invitation will be sent.
- An Ad-hoc committee is going to be formed for registrations costs. This committee will iron out the details, organize said details and bring forward for final approval.
- Fundraising subcommittee meets the 2nd Monday of every month @ 7:15pm in person and via zoom.
- Monthly donation via “Give Butter” is up and running. Link has been posted on multiple social media platforms.
- Mystery murder event scheduled for January 31st. This is a local event and was a huge success previously.
- Lots of merch/swag and misc. in the works. It was noted by a few that the committee should really try to start selling outside WA state. Committee heard and will look into the best ways to get this done.
Registration:
- Subcommittee has been formed and has had their first meeting.
- A check request is in the works of being completed for the registration platform. Three bids will be included and the preferred one that was researched and agreed upon by subcommittee is stated within check request.
Fundraising:
- Fundraising subcommittee meets the 2nd Monday of every month @ 7:15pm in person and via zoom.
- Monthly donation via “Give Butter” is up and running. Link has been posted on multiple social media platforms.
- Mystery murder event scheduled for January 31st. This is a local event and was a huge success previously.
- Lots of merch/swag and misc. in the works. It was noted by a few that the committee should really try to start selling outside WA state. Committee heard and will look into the best ways to get this done.
CAWS 2028 (Scotland) – Crawford B. Highlights:
- We had our committee meeting on the 2nd of November and it was filled with great ideas, knowledge and enthusiasm.
- The treasury committee are in the process of finalizing the European bank account and relevant signatories. This will allow us to input the funds already raised so far for the CAWS 2028 Convention which are currently in The Scottish area bank account to allow us to pay for anything that is required in the interim.
3| P a g e
- We have very limited stock of t-shirts and are awaiting a proposal from the merchandise chair for another run.
- The fundraising committee is in the process of arranging our first event and this will take the form of a “white collar boxing event”. The most stringent levels of organization and planning will go into this event, and it should prove to be very successful both in attendance and revenue.
- We are currently looking into insurance around this event and the strict guidelines that are required to undertake an event like this to make sure everyone’s safety and wellbeing is paramount.
- The Friday night Burgher Street group in Scotland held a retreat to raise funds.
- Our logo and name are ratified and our merchandise can now feature this.
- The Steering committee chairs have had a great response in resumes for their respective sub committees from all over the European region and after ratifying more chair positions, we now have 28 general committee chairs in place.
- Our hotel liaison and trustee brought to the committee that the 3 hotels on the bid document were in their own respective ways and due to circumstances out with our control were found to be unsuitable to host this convention.
- The hotel liaison, trustee have been hard at work along with the DOCAC seeking out a venue that is more tailored to this type of event.
- The EICC seems to be the most suitable venue option for this convention. The ERT, hotel liaison and the DOCAC have been in communication with the EICC representative and discussed the initial RFP and have requested an updated proposal regarding an additional day (Monday).
- As the convention will be held in Scotland, we are in the process of designing and registering a tartan that will belong exclusively to Cocaine Anonymous.
CAWS 2029 (Toronto) – Parthi T Highlights:
- First and foremost, in my first official report as Chairperson, I would like to express how truly honoured and grateful I am to have been chosen to serve as Chairperson for CAWS 2029. I am sincerely looking forward to working with our Area, Region and the WSOB to help put together an amazing and memorable Convention.
- At this time, we are actively seeking resumes for the five remaining Steering Committee positions: Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Program Chair, and Hotel/Events Venue Liaison. I have set January 11—the day after our next Area meeting—as the deadline for receiving resumes.
- While I am eager to form the Steering Committee and begin the hotel selection process, I believe this timeframe allows us to properly solicit interest from across the Region, and meet the requirement of a minimum of two candidates per position.
- Once received, all resumes will be forwarded to the WSCCC for review and ratification, with the goal of having the Steering Committee approved at the January 18 WSCCC meeting.
- Once again, I want to express how blessed and grateful I feel to be trusted with this role. I am humbled by the opportunity to serve and excited for the work ahead

CHAIR REPORT
WSOB Chair–Randy G.
- I spend time every week at the WSO office. Jonathan, Karmen and I meet on Wednesday afternoons to meet once a week with Tai to go over finances, sign checks and discuss the implementation progress of our new platforms.
- Gary and I had our “chair to chair” call and I participated in the monthly Conference Committee meeting.
- Tai and I had a very active month meeting with multiple areas regarding the licensing and royalty agreements. Morten attended many of these, along with the trustee for those particular areas and their involvement has been a big plus in providing a working relationship with the areas and their understanding of the agreements.
- It’s amazing to be a part of the growth of our fellowship and the delivery of our message world-wide.
- As we hosted the trustees for their quarterly at the office, it was nice to get to introduce some of them to the office for the very first time. We trust their meeting went well and we have some items to address in our executive session as the result of their meeting.
- Tai and I met with ADP and will continue to work with the potential options for the commitment of providing a 401k to our employees.

WSOB Motions
- Have updated the motions from August until present in the motion log.
- Two questions re: Motions–In the motions log there is a check request by Jesse on November 12 CR2026 -33 for $688.96- after discussion all were in favor except for 1 vote but there was no disposition declared. CR2026-33 came up again on November 26, where it passed unanimously. Was the motion withdrawn? Suspended? Will update roster when new members are announced.
Referrals
- Have updated the motions from August until present in the motion log.
- Working with Wesley on a tracking system for referrals. I spoke to Lou Burns who is in charge of handling the referrals. We had a great conversation he advised that he is still pretty new in this position and still trying to figure things out to be more efficient.
- Said the last time he checked there were no new referrals. He also mentioned that there was no one updating them.
- After we spoke, he checked his referral email again. He messaged me that there were three new ones, but none for the WSOB.
- He also said that once he knows more about his role, he will be happy to work with us.
- He apologized for being a little behind himself and explained that he is expecting a new baby on December 26.
- Wesley and I have been thinking about the process and considering what we can do to make the process a bit smoother, however, we can’t really come up with any type of a solution until the referrals are sorted and disbursed to appropriate committees. More to come…
Yours in Service Kimberley C

Captain Obvious:
- HS reports suggest we sale a lot of pamphlets. We can’t possible be breaking even. Just a hunch. Do we consider making a bigger push for NA self publishing? If that is what Tai has been doing this whole time… then clearly i should start paying more attention.

-
- Signed contract for Stevie Ray for recording of the conference.
- Addendums:
- Have addendums for 2026 and 2027 regarding the following items:
- Ice cream prices
- Boxed lunch prices
- Have addendums for 2026 and 2027 regarding the following items:
- Logistics & Room Blocks:
- Need to figure out how many room nights the TNC/WSBT would be willing to commit to be efficient in the process.
- We have gone over our room block the last 3 years and that needs to be modified definitely for 2026.
- 1a. Maybe for 2027 depending or not as to whether the areas are sending less delegates due to the motion that affects their representation on the conference floor due to a motion that passed in 2022.
- If we do not address 1 and 1a above, after a certain number of nights, we are subjecting the fellowship to paying above the contracted rate or having to seek lodging elsewhere.
- n 2025, the last few reserved rooms were reserved for $139.00 vs the $130.00 contracted rate.
- It is the Conference Committee that bear the consequences of that—they get the calls and emails from members complaining and yelling about the unfairness of it all.
- If an attendee decides or is forced to seek lodging elsewhere, that is a $17 room rebate that C.A. misses out on ($10 from the hotel and $7 from Visit Irving).
- Additionally, after we meet the room block, the hotel no longer allows for anyone to reserve a room and Jesse has to call Teresa to ask for more rooms so they know when we have reached our limit and someone from above has to approve it and re-open the room block.
- We need to solidify food prices that were not addressed in the original contract for the obvious reasons.

- Summary of Referral: Divide the Director of Conventions and Conferences into 2 positions by renaming a DAL as Director of Conventions and Conferences 2. Considering that RFP’s for Conference hotels are done every 2 years, The DoCaC 1 and 2 will split Conference duties as follows:
- DoCaC 1 to deal with the hotel contracts that have already been signed by the WST to include contractual issues, addendums, etc.
- DoCaC 2 to lead/serve the next RFP committee; and then deal with the 2 years of contracts that are a direct result of the RFP committee;
- DoCaC 1 and 2 to then alternate leading/serving on RFP committee and deal with those contracts;
- DoCaC 1 and 2 to alternate attending monthly WSCC Committee.
In order to not increase expenses to the WSOB budget the DoCaC 1 and 2 duties regarding the conventions should be divided as follows:
- The DoCaC 1 would also be responsible for even convention years’ contracts, steering meeting attendance, guidance and subsequently would only be financially covered for travel, lodging, per diem and related expenses to even year conventions. DoCaC 1 would also be responsible for chairing the Bid Vetting committee for the even year petitions.
- The DoCaC 2 would be responsible for odd convention years’ contracts, steering meeting attendance, guidance and subsequently would only be financially covered for travel, lodging, per diem and related expenses to even year conventions. DoCaC 2 would also be responsible for chairing the Bid Vetting committee for the odd year petitions. (See pages 69-70 of the WSM)
DoCaC 1 and 2 to meet prior to WSOB meetings to discuss issues and keep each other informed. DoCaC 1 and 2 would fulfill all other director responsibilities including but not

limited to attending WSOB meetings, turning in written reports, serve on the spending committee., etc.
