Chairs Opening Remarks (Jason)
Dear All,
As we commence our Q2 WSBT Meeting together, I feel a sadness in my heart as Jason our leader and Chair is unable to be with us in person due to ill health. I feel a little nervous yet honoured that I am able to take over the gavel from Jason, with his blessing. I know that God is amongst us and all will be as He sees fit. We have a lot of business to address, and I hope that I can serve well in acting up in Jason absence as Chair. It is important that all your voices are heard. I will endeavour to facilitate the smooth running of our meetings with the assistance of George. Let us serve the Fellowship that we love to the absolute best of our ability.

Discussion about Northern VA area being added to the Atlantic South. Chris to follow up and report back.
European Region Trustee (Sarah)
The European Regional Convention was held and went really well. They managed to raise £9,000 with £3,000 to be sent to the office. A new area petition is in the works for Sussex.
Mainland Europe Region Trustee (Johan)
The region is starting to open back up post COVID. The Regional Caucus in Portugal went really well. A workshop on growth was held that was very positive. A detailed description of the workshop has been included in Johan’s trustee report. The workshop was a great exercise for

the region and was a healthy way to communicate with the delegates to help them understand what we, as a Fellowship, are trying to do.
There have been discussions with Greece and Poland who are interested in filing petitions for new areas.

Iowa is hoping to submit a petition for new area next year. The MWR has gained 6 meetings since the first quarter.

We will try and answer in some detail making this document as valuable as possible for the researched information. If you have further questions or additional inquiries, please feel free to reach out.
SOFTWARE:
- What software does your committee use on a regular basis?
Zoom, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Groups.io, email, and a chatgroup via WhatsApp. Office 365 and outlook regarding email.
- How is it licensed (personal or CA)?
Zoom and Groups.io is provided from the fellowship. Other software and services are usually personal and is not provided by the fellowship.
- Who is/are the administrator(s) for the software?
Our chair and co-chair for groups.io. Web servant and the office (Marius?) for the email, WhatsApp is the Chair and the Co-Chair.
- Who has access to it? The members of the

Many working documents are stored locally at respective board members purview. Though, all formal documentation is saved at groups.io. Some items are of course transferred out and saved according to WSO needs and wants.

Online for groups.io, email on the email server and locally stored files. WhatsApp is a chatgroup and not backed up.

1,4 Gb for groups.io, the rest we have no information on since email is provided by the office for the WSBT.

No

N/A

As we understand, we use Office 365 and outlook regarding email that is provided via the office.

That is an office question.

No, but the office/Marius can access the emails for reset of password. Also, the groups.io and WhatsApp group have more than 1 admin, so there is a fallback.
We hope these questions gives some clarity and information regarding how we as a fellowship handles information and backups. Please do not hesitate to ask for additional information if needed.

Dear Jen,
We appreciate your invitation to the World Service Board of Trustees to hold their 2023 First Quarter Trustee Business Meeting in conjunction with the 2023 Northern Alberta Area convention. Unfortunately, we will need to decline the invitation with the following explanation.
A previous Board had accepted an invitation to hold a Quarterly Trustee Business Meeting in conjunction with an area convention. The thought process was it could help the host Area meet their hotel contract commitments as well as allow the Trustees to be more visible to the Fellowship. Due to the COVID pandemic, the opportunity to follow through with this decision didn’t come about until March 2022.
Upon implementation of this decision, the current Board has realized this process is not something we can continue to do. While there were many good aspects to our experience of holding our business meeting in conjunction with the Area convention, the additional financial expenses incurred with this process were determined to not be the best usage of our limited budget.
We hope the 2023 Northern Alberta Area convention will be a great success.

Your Message: To whom it may concern,
I would like to raise a complaint of Racist views been shared online by 2 different Individuals. This Tuesday at approximately 2100 hours, UK time on a meeting via zoom, named Ask The Old Timers, a certain fellow made racist comments towards my Sikh Religion, Muslims and Japanese.
In May last year at a zoom meeting named Daily Reprieve which starts at 9 pm UK time, 7 days a week, another fellow made a racist comment towards me.
I would like to know why CA as an organisation has no protocols in place to prevent this happening and exactly what you intend to do about this type of behaviour?
The rooms of CA should be a safe place for addicts in recovery and not the complete opposite. Nothing is done to stop this kind of behaviour. I would like to know, as an organisation, what you intend to do about this? Before I proceed down the route of legal action against you?
As a result of what I have experienced, I shall no longer be attending any CA meetings, online or in person. I shall revert back to AA where this has never happened in my 2 and a half years of attendance.

Unfortunately, when most of us get here we are neither kind nor considerate until the spiritual experience has taken hold. We are in no way condoning the actions of these members. A couple suggestions to remedy the situation is to bring it to the chairperson’s attention or GSR of the group so they can protect the meeting and its members.

Cocaine Anonymous is a Fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from their addiction.
The best way to reach someone is to speak to them on a common level. The members of C.A. are all recovering addicts who maintain their individual sobriety by working with others. We come from various social, ethnic, economic and religious backgrounds, but what we have in common is addiction.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using cocaine and all other mind-altering substances.
Anyone who wants to stop using cocaine and all other mind-altering substances (including alcohol and other drugs) is welcome.
There are no dues or fees for membership; we are fully self-supporting through our own contributions.
We do ask for voluntary contributions at meetings to cover expenses such as coffee, rent, literature and services to help those who are still suffering. However, newcomers need not feel obligated to contribute. We do not accept donations from organizations or individuals outside the Fellowship.
We are not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution.
In order to maintain our integrity and avoid any possible complications, we are not affiliated with any outside organization. Although C.A. is a spiritual program, we do not align ourselves with any religion. Our members are free to define their spirituality as they see fit. Our individual members may have opinions of their own, but C.A. as a whole has no opinion on outside issues. We are not affiliated with any rehabs, recovery houses or hospitals, but many do refer their patients to Cocaine Anonymous to maintain their sobriety.
Our primary purpose is to stay free from cocaine and all other mind-altering substances and to help others achieve the same freedom.
The only purpose of Cocaine Anonymous is to offer recovery to individuals who are suffering from addiction. Our experience has shown that the most effective way to attain and maintain sobriety is to work with others suffering from the same malady.
We use the Twelve-Step recovery program because it has already been proven that the Twelve-Step recovery program works.

The Steps of C.A. are adapted from the original Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. The Steps of Cocaine Anonymous read:
- We admitted we were powerless over cocaine and all other mind-altering substances—that our lives had become unmanageable.
- Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
- Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
- Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
- Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
- Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
- Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
- Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
- Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
- Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
- Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
- Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.*

We will ask that the World Service Office, as part of their forensic investigation, review its banking transactions to confirm whether or not the check was paid into a World Services account.
