MINUTES COCAINE ANONYMOUS WORLD SERVICE BOARD MEETING JANUARY 9, 1986

Meeting was called to order by Willie at 6:45. Dana read minutes.
I. OLD BUSINESS
A. The Trademark attorney was unable to attend, and will attend next week (1/16).
B. Gil has the Conference Kits completed and has distributed as many as he has addresses for, thus far. LAGSO has yet to submit a list to Gil for local distribution.
C. A Conference Committee was again formed and will meet on Wednesday, the 15th.
D. It was decided that if a delegate is not present for the Conference, they will have no vote. No one can vote in their absence.
E. Willie is checking on prices for Audio equipment for the Conference. Michael will obtain a 4×6 map for the bulletin board.
F. Willie has promised Richard a World Service letter for “The Connection” by Tuesday, the 14th.
II. NEW BUSINESS
A. Jack brought up an issue regarding the press at meetings and the subject of anonymity. There will be a Public Information pamphlet available at (possibly) this Conference, to specifically deal with this matter.

B. Neil would like to raise the price of literature, using the example NA has set. He would also like to see more literature added.
C. Willie made the motion to raise the price of literature, with a price break for quantity. No one was opposed.
D. A second motion was made to keep (or regain)control of literature. No one was opposed, Chicago will be advised.
E. Michael suggested that we have the CAWS telephone number printed on all literature. Bob was opposed, as he answers the calls on that phone and it is for business not a hotline.
F. Howard motioned to print the CATVS address only and no phone number. No one was opposed.
G. Dana, Jennifer and Neil will be in charge of reception at the conference.
H. Howard suggested we get a UPS account for Chips & Literature.
I. Bob motioned we purchase mailing scale “G”. No one was opposed.
