PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
Firstly, let me introduce myself, I am Stuart J the WSCPI
Chair.
We have made some additions to our current team, so we can achieve even more great work. Now let me introduce you to this amazing team who have been working tirelessly and diligently on all these items and motions we will be presenting to you shortly.

SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE MOTIONS:
1. Background on Motion 1
The 2021 Public Information Handbook is intended to replace the previously Conference-approved Public Information Handbook. The aim of the revamped Public Information Handbook is to give the fellowship the tools, resources, and best practices they need to conduct PI work in today’s modern world. The handbook has been created for use in both online and offline formats, with easy links to conference approved materials and templates.
Motion to approve the 2021 Public Information Handbook and appendixes.

5. Background on Motion 5 to approve the Public Information Vault to be added to pi.ca.org.
This is a repository of projects and documentation to be used as an educational resource for all PI servants. PI Committees around the globe have been sharing their innovative and creative campaigns with each other through messaging groups, email and word of mouth. However, if Chairs rotate out or if you are new to a committee, you may never hear about these campaigns and be able to learn from them. We came up with a more permanent solution. The Vault allows committees to share their Area approved campaigns with each other, with oversight from the WSCPI committee.
Motion to approve the Public Information Vault to be added to pi.ca.org.

The WSCPI Committee would like the LCF Committee to accept the “What is Hope?” pamphlet containing already Conference approved material as a concept to be made available to the Fellowship.
S&B 9029222 (Pre-Conference)
The WSCPI Committee respectfully submits the following verbiage for inclusion on page 41 in the World Service Manual, to be inserted after the paragraph regarding the global poster campaign: The Public Information Committee shall organize an annual Public Information “Cooperating with Professional Communities” campaign to encourage the fellowship worldwide to become involved in a weeklong event during the third week of January. This week is dedicated to reaching out to Professional Communities (including, but not limited to medical and healthcare professionals, Criminal Justice organizations, Industry HR and Occupational Health departments) giving them information about who we are, what we do and how we can be of help to them and their clients / service users / employees.

The Power of PI Pamphlet – Pamphlet for the fellowship about PI similar to New High From H&I.
REFERRALS STILL IN COMMITTEE:
PI 2021-01 LCF Committee (Pre-Conference) – The CAWS P.I. Committee develop an approval process for drafting and publishing P.I. material. This process to include WSBT review for any potential Traditions violations prior to WSC approval, as well as referral of any WSC approved written material to a professional editor, via the WSO, prior to publication.

CLOSING COMMENTS:
During my term as WSCPI Chair, which is now coming to an end I have found the dedication, a willingness to serve of its members awe inspiring, through a very difficult time, the committee has pulled together and got on with the business of reaching out to the fellowship, the public, and the professional communities around the world, so that the still suffering addict can find the fellowship they crave. To say that I am thankful to have had the opportunity to serve our wonderful fellowship in this capacity is an understatement. I will leave this position with my heart filled with gratitude and look forward to the next challenges.
