Meeting was called to order by Coco at 7:30 Pm with the Serenity Prayer.
Melody read the long version of the 5th Tradition,
Helene read the minutes of the board meeting of 5/15/87
Motion: To accept minutes as read; Motion seconded and carried.
Coco welcomed Melody as Chairperson of the Archives Committee.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Public Information – Bob G.
A written report was distributed. Bob was asked about following up on a letter to Philadelphia fellowship and their use of the 800-Cocaine phone number on their directories. He has agreed to handle this and see that it is taken care of. He is working on a P.I, slot with MTV, Good Morning America and AM Los Angeles.
Group Communications – Jim B.
Submitted letter to delegates and this will be distributed along with announcements of upcoming conventions and fees for United Airlines.
Archives – Melody P.
Distributed a written report which included description of committee’s work and a budget for the next year.

Treasurer’s Report – cont’d
State Board of Equalization – Linda was informed that we must charge taxes on merchandise sold (Chips and Literature) to areas within California only. Will postpone filing at this time and until new corporation is set up.
Proposed Budget – new finalized version submitted and attached.
Will submit a recap of last 3 months to show what income has been received. Motion: To accept finalized budget – motion seconded and carried.

Newsletter – Jim G
Submitted for approval. Cost for printing $100. Special thanks to Mel M. for his assistance in putting this newsletter together. Much appreciation was extended to all those on the committee who helped put this Newsletter together.
Motion: To accept Newsletter with changes submitted to Jim; Motion seconded
and carried.
OLD BUSINESS
- United Parcel Service is instituted and in use.
- Insurance for Office: Steve P. is following up on this.
- Coco spoke with Bruce and he is aware of the importance of his attending the Board meeting once monthly re: the Connection
- Federal Trademark Application is submitted. Attorney submitted to us suggested form letter to release rights on all literature written by those who originated same.
- Still waiting for another letter from San Francisco on the metal chips. This is in response to the letter sent by Coco.
- Linda will still follow-up on lease,
NEW BUSINESS
- Audit completed on chips and literature. 760 Bumper stickers were found and not previously accounted for as well as medallions from convention. Will contact convention committee in San Francisco to ask if they would like to have bumper stickers for sale during the convention.
- San Francisco requested permission to use the CA Neon sign. They will be informed that they will be responsible for any damages to this sign while in their possession.
- Board meetings will now he on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Meetings in June are scheduled for the 11th and 25th.

d. Discussion: U.P.S. Insurance; Do we want to insure packages sent that are valued over $100 at a cost of $.25 per, $100.
Motion: To insure packages valued at over $100 shipped by UPS at a cost of 25£ per $100. Motion seconded and carried.
This charge will be incorporated into the shipping charges.
e. Steve P. will produce for approval, a new form for ordering chips and literature,
