OPENING REPORT
C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2019
UNITY COMITTEE REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
This year, the members on the Unity Committee have been passionately involved and motivated with Unity functions throughout the world on various service levels. Members were able to connect with Sweden to create an event where those who attended signed a 90″ x 156″ rectangular tablecloth which was then auctioned off at the 2019 World Convention. The Committee is currently working with Austin Texas in a similar capacity for the 2020 World Convention. We have been able to gain access to our Unity@ca.org email and were able to address all incoming emails throughout the year. Lastly, with

only one CATW logo submission last year, our Committee generated a lot of enthusiasm for a logo in 2020. We created a flyer that was sent to the Newsgram, CAWSO and was circulated by Committee members requesting submissions for the 2020 CATW logo. The result of this was three CATW logos being submitted for review this year.

SUMMARY OF SR14 MATERIALS SUBMITTED IN 2019 AND WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE COMMITTEE MOTIONS LATER THIS WEEK
The Committee submitted six items for SR14 material as shown below:
- On page 7 of the Unity Guidelines Guide to Forming a Committee, insert “unity@ca.org” directly underneath the CAWS office mailing address on the bottom of the page.
- On page 9 of the Unity Guidelines Unity Survey, add a sentence below survey after item 11 of the Survey: “GSR’s may conduct surveys in their groups quarterly, using the Unity Survey as a guide, and report the results to the Unity Liaison at unity@ca.org.”
- On Page 9 of the Unity Guidelines at the bottom of the page, the last sentence of the page, replace the world “them” with “newcomers” so the sentence will read: “If you have any additional solutions on what your area can do to keep newcomers coming back, please let our committee know.”
- On page 11 of the Unity Guidelines in the section called Breakfast/Speaker Meeting, add a new sentence to end of line 4 in the first paragraph as follows: “(Responsibility of CAWS Conference Committee).”
- On page 11 of the Unity Guidelines at the bottom of the page, under the section Unity Event for World Service Convention, replace the existing paragraph in its entirety with this new paragraph: “It is the responsibility of the CAWSC Unity Vice-Chair to work with, or assign an attending CAWSC Unity Member to work with, the hosting CA World Service Convention Vice-Chair or Unity Chair, in planning and coordinating an event that is to take place at the hosting CA World Service

Convention. A two to four hour event is suggested which could include any or a combination of the following: a meet & greet, fun & games, an ice cream social, a traditions and/or concepts workshop… The funding for this event is provided as a $500 line item within the hosting cities budget and the hosting city is to provide accommodations within their programs along with a space appropriate for such desired event.”
- On page 14 of the Unity Guidelines, amend the CAWSC UNITY COMMITTEE REGISTRATION FORM to add the email address “unity@ca.org” below mailing address toward the top of that form.
