C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2019
IT COMMITTEEREPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
The WSCITC Committee has been gathered online one a month since conference. A dedicated committee has been working throughout the year. We have researched and investigated what things can be included in the work for this committee. We have tried to interpret the guidelines wider to be of more service for the whole fellowship during the year.
We have made vast achievements in creating a database that will benefit the whole fellowship as well as

REFERRALS THAT WERE WORKED ON DURING THE YEAR:
1. Referral 2375913 – Sobriety Calculator, to be included in the scope for the app
a. Motivation – CA needs a clean time calculator on the world website, if not a clean time app.
2. Referral 3226506 – Quiet Peace reading for the day be displayed on the ca.org
a. That the Quiet Peace reading for the day be displayed on the ca.org website in a prominent location, so people can read it from the website.
3. Referral 3675693
a. There are a ton of amazing speaker tapes that newcomers or those in remote areas who can’t make a meeting could benefit from. Currently, they need to go to YouTube or XA-Speakers in order to hear these tapes. I request this body create and maintain a space online where anyone in need of a meeting would be able to listen to speaker tapes submitted from CA groups around the world
i. Response to referral, no action taken on basis on anonymity and content. CA as a body won’t be able to go through all speaker tapes to assure message, no outside issues, anonymity of speaker or other member. So basically, it is a non-starter. Create a referral response and proposed wording that the committee can then vote

on to approve. (through a motion and a vote), Include in the committee’s Opening Report (as per the 2018 Opening Report Template) under “Referrals That Were Worked On During The Year”.
4. Referral 4363442
a. My experience of using the where to find meetings search engine is very fragmented and hard to use and is confusing for the newcomer. My suggestion is that there is just 1 where to find search engine worldwide like the one used in AA. Also on the AA search engine there is a map that appears showing the exactly location of the meetings using a red arrow.

5. Referral 3876232
a. Over the years a number of members have stated they would like just one WTF to make looking for a meeting simple for the newcomer. Could you please ask the IT committee to create i universal electronic WTF bby postcode, city, country for the whole of fellowship to use quickly no matter what area/region or districts you are from.
i. Action taken; this will be possible to do with the backend/database that are created. Create a referral response and proposed wording that the committee can then vote on to approve. 6. IT 2018-1
a. I created this document as when constructing our Districts (West Country and South Wales District of CAUK) website www.casw.co.uk, I struggled with the approval guidelines as laid out in the ITC guidelines (and PI handbook as the information is currently duplicated there). As a result, our CAUK delegates had not been

aware of the WCSWD website launching due to me misinterpreting the guidance. – I believe this document (or something similar) might help and be a useful starting point/addition to the ITC Guidelines? – Many thanks for your consideration.
i. Yes, we do like this, we are working to get it in to the house keeping section on the breakout sessions
7. IT 2018-1
a. A member has come to me, as the IT Chair for CAUK. and asked for this proposal to be put forward as a referral: That the Quiet Peace reading for the day be displayed on the ca.org website in a prominent location, so people can read it from the website. – The member felt that other members (and newcomers) would benefit from having this available. I explained to him that he would have to make this a referral, since it involves a change to the WSM and the IT workbook. The website was not working for him, so I am making it in his place.
i. We will address this at conference.

CLOSING COMMENTS
Our interpretation of the guidelines is broad which makes our work a hefty burden, we do however start to attract more members in a wider net throughout the fellowship.
We would love new members,being tekkie is not a demand – If you believe you have experience to share – welcome – and if you believe you ask the right questions– welcome, and if you are tech savvy, welcome!
We welcome all. And we will in 2019 furthermore work to be of service for the whole fellowship.
