OPENING REPORT C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2019 HOSPITALS & INSTITUTIONS COMMITTEEREPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS
The H&I Committee has been working year-round to better service our H&I fellowship across the world. We have been revising our H&I survey to better understand the needs and operations of H&I committees in the different Areas and Districts. This helps us to know where we can work to improve this vital process of sharing the message to newcomers in facilities. We’ve collaborated on advancing communication, to know better how each part of the world helps individuals in the different facilities we service. We trudge on to spark interest and encourage new members to join this much needed work. Be that adding members to our conference calls, collaborating with

other World Service committees, continued outreach to facilities and supporting H&I workshops and events worldwide.

SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE MATTERS WORKED ON THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Our H&I Committee members have met every month since last conference via conference call. Often further communication via text, email and phone have been done to further our work. The outreach committee has been working to keep in contact with our growing list of H&I chairs. A development of ideas to better update this information has been discussed recently. This will help as people roll in and out of the H&I positions. The distribution of our survey to those H&I chairs only or the Area or District chair for locations that have not developed an H&I committee. They have updated questions on the survey to better receive and understand the needs of the H&I chairs and the locations they serve. We received two referrals H&I 2019-01 and H&I 2019-02 that pertain to this sub-committee. They have been discussed and will be addressed in our closing report.

Correctional referrals have handled any contact letter from those in jails and prisons worldwide. Efforts have been made to see how we can respond to letters from overseas faster and more efficiently.
Guidelines committee has worked on and completed Referral H&I 2018-02-2. This was to correct any all logos, publishing legends, disclaimers and copyrights that were not up to date. They have continued throughout the year to handle any general house cleaning within our guidelines.

SUMMARY OF SR14 MATERIALS SUBMITTED IN 2019 AND WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE COMMITTEE MOTIONS LATER THIS WEEK
None submitted. Our committee is looking into creating a new letter to send into correctional facilities, institutions and possibly housing that would better define our efforts, ask how we can be of better service to their clients and what it would take to get more Cocaine Anonymous

H&I into their facilities. The creation of an H&I poster is being discussed along with translation into other languages.

None this year. 2018 LCF referral for a Lifeline pamphlet. H&I-2017-01 was referred out last conference to the Online Service Area Committee.
