3. Chair’s opening remarks
Thanks to the Vice Chair for assisting with conference call agenda. Now that the holidays are over we need to get back to the business of C.A.
OLD BUSINESS
1. CAWS Convention updates:
- CAWS 2007 (Tony)
Host committee is moving forward and dealing with some communication challenges with the WSOB. Future conversations with the WSOB Chair and WSO Paid Director should assist in resolving these issues. Early bird package deadline is February 1st, online registration is available at http://ca.org/cawscon.htm1 .

- CAWS 2010 (Tony)
Host committee has selected Quinn B. as Chair of the 2010 CAWS convention. Committee volunteers are stepping up for service positions. Committee has met with the Hyatt and Hilton hotels to obtain bids for this event.

2006.02.12 WSBT statements/positions accessible to both WSBT and the fellowship (combination of two old business items, OA #12 & #33) (Jay, Hayward, Bobbie)
- On agenda since August 2005
- Hayward will archive all documents on Yahoo group to DVD and provide link to Sharepoint
- Will continue to work on this online
- Remain on agenda
- Status: Talked to new Webservant — will work on this part in January — Hayward, Bobbie and Jay. To work on before March Quarterly.
- The C.A. Webservant has created a beta web site and administration page to assist the WSBT in keeping track of correspondence received from the fellowship and their responses. The sub committee is currently gathering and inputing data for the WSBT review at the March quarterly.
2006.02.20 Copyright and trademark protection (Jay, Hayward)
- To remain on agenda for quarterly review
- Canadian renewal in October 2006.
- Sweden is not in the EU -Hayward to check w lawyers Status?
- Request has been forward to WSO to contact legal firm for CAWS, Inc. about having the trademark and logo protected in Sweden and South Africa, will provide update at March quarterly meeting.
2006.02.27 Further changes to ratification process in WSM (Tony, Jay)
- On agenda since August 2004
- Need to address questions regarding 5th Concept rights, member’s’ unavailability, 2/3 vote
- Motion passed in May 2006 to revise part of process, but language still needs additional work
- Referral to S&B added to end of agenda – how will we present change to the Conference?
- Followup at March quarterly Status?
- Nick, Trevor and Lawrence added to sub committee will report updates at March quarterly meeting.
2006.08.19 Issue of AA tapes at CA conventions (Carl, Hayward, Jay, Tony, Earl, Bobbie) Proposing to send a referral to the Convention Committee and Structure & Bylaws from WSBT – hiring practices to only use CA tapes at CAWS Conventions. Move to online -place marker -Patty to send a document to us and then referral to WSC Convention Committee – question – has this occurred yet?
- Requested letter from WSO 3 times. Carl will take lead on creating this document for use at CAWS 2007 convention.

2006.06.05 Follow-up on 2006 NADCP Conference (Robbie, Carl, Jay)
- Pass-it-on
- Spreadsheet for contact information
- Status of correspondence in response to contacts
- Status of piece, how to start a meeting when there is no CA nearby
- See how this year goes and see if local/world public information committee members could become involved
- Needs from Office for 2007 NADCP – Status?
- 2007 Attendance and Cost (Bobbie and Bruce) – any update?
- Question- have we contacted the planners so that we can “host” a special session on CA?
- Bobbie and Bruce talked about flight information and modes of travel to Washington DC.
- Discussion on attendance of the 3 rd person to the event should it be either a person from the WSO or another Trustee? The office personnel will probably be available longer than a Trustee such as the Executive Director for future events. Discussion on the booth between (Tony, Trevor and Bobbie) Trevor has a source to possibly create the graphics for the booth.
- June 13 th – 16* date of event.

That the CAWSO Executive Director along with the Trustee members to attend the yearly
NADCP event.

2006.10.07 Status of the NewsGram editor vacancy, what is the job description, what is the process for selection, and when will that position be advertised and then filled?
- Placemarker for status at March Quarterly
- Last update was that position was still vacant. John and Cynthia working on job description. Cynthia is interim editor – any update on this?
- A Interim editor and WSOB NewsGram committee are still in the process of defining duties.

For WSOB to have job description, process for selection, timeline of selection, and logistics of posting the position of NewsGram editor completed by March Quarterly meeting

2006.10.08 Code of Conduct of Paid Employees (Bruce, Bobbie, Carl, Hayward, Earl, Trevor, Jay, Nick)
- Working on this and working on line; Jay to talk to lawyers and wait for handbook (Handbook to come from Office to Jay) status:
- Subcommittee has received the latest version of the WSO handbook.

2006.10.10 Recovery in the Desert issues (Carl)
- Carl will work on petition Jay, Bobbie, Trevor, Bruce, Nick will work on the Conference piece
- The Area will hold elections for positions in January will update at March quarterly meeting
2006.03.17 Referral(s) to clarify Regional Assembly process (Jay)
- Follow-up re S&B omission . Submit it like it was, Bobbie to create the referral – followup at next quarterly w update, Bobbie and Jay to finalize.
- Will complete by March quarterly meeting
2006.11.04 Manual/Guideline Approval/Sign-Off (Jay)
- Referral to Structure and Bylaws to be added to WSManual – we draft it as referral for new standing rule – Bobbie to bring
- Will complete by March quarterly meeting
2006.11.09 Europe and travel to Conference (Nick)
- Nick to update in March 07 quarterly
- ERT is trying to secure a US banking account to resolve the currency issues.
2006.10.05 Status of Volume II of Storybook
- WSOT’s recent report to the WSBT on status of the HFC II stated that items such as meeting/group counts are being finalized for the new books Preface, typesetting issues are being resolved. The book should be ready to send to printer in a few more weeks.
NEW BUSINESS
2007.01.01 WSBT/WSOB Board to Board for march quarterly 2007 >
- WSBT will meet with WSOB Chair, Paid Director and Treasurer. There may also be a 2 hour meeting with Paid Director.
2007.01.02 Filling the second TAL vacancy and motion
- Once a year the WSBT discusses the position of the 2nd Trustee At Large.

To not fill the 2nd Trustee At Large position.
