  • CAWS 2008 (Trevor) Going well, contracts should be ready for next week, Hospitality problems
  • CAWS 2009 (Bobbie) Not a lot of interaction, they are working, looking for meeting topics. Watching to see the logo because Colorado is using renegade logo
  • CAWS 2010 (Kim) Budget is done and to be forwarded to office next week. Fundraising is underway. Conflicting reports re: how often steering committee is meeting. Chair does a lot of stuff on his own. Maintain good contact with the chair. Tony is helping with contact. Open positions will be announced at the next fundraising event. ( Comedy Night)
  • CAWS 2011 (Bobbie) looking for convention chair. Possibly Steve Amalotte
  1. Old business from online agenda:

2007.05.09 Review of 12 point literature process and publishing process (Trevor, Bruce, Carl, Nicholas) January conference call

Haven’t really done anything on it as of yet. Need to look at the NA model for publication and see if it would work for us. We need to look at this as a board. To be reviewed in May Quarterly

NEW BUSINESS

2007.10.14 NADCP preparation for 2008 in St. Louis, MO (Bobbie) Place marker

Bobbie in contact with Patty re: booth, supplies to take to NADCP. Discussing Bobbie and Patty as only members attending.

Motion (Bobbie) to have Bobbie and Patty represent CA at NADCP.

Discussion: Earl: Speaks in favor.

Kim: Wants to attend, but unable to. Not opposed to Bobbie and Patty. Possibly have local people attend to provide help.

Bobbie: Already in contact with local folks and they are willing to help.

Passed by unanimous consent

Carl: Presentation is everything. We need to spend money to look professional.

Literature racks, books, etc.

Lawrence: The booth is hard for short people to assemble. We need to attract people to the booth.

2007.10.15 Status of European office inquiries (Nick)

Nick: Emailed the entire region for suggestions. Gathering figures as to what is going where for literature, chips, books, etc. Waiting for the office to provide info re; purchasing history

To be updated online, hopefully before the May Quarterly

2007.10.16 Relationship between Clubs and Groups update at conference call will work on Policy (Bobbie,Hayward,Lawrence,Nick,Carl)

Bobbie: We need a new piece that better clarifies the relationship between CA and clubhouses.

To be updated at May Quarterly

2008.01.03 CAWS Unity Committee Luncheon flier (Kim)

Kim: Everyone saw the flyer and correspondance with Waheeda. Has a conference call with the flyer on the agenda. Clean up the tradition violations. Looking for suggestions. Flyer has been retracted.

Nicholas: Problems talking to H&I people, one to one phone calls work very well.

2008.01.04 Problem’s with the Caleb Group (Lawrence)

Lawrence: Group holds meetings at a church in Little Rock. Picking up people in the church van for the meeting. Group is under the outreach program of the church. Contacted the minister of the church. Got hung up on. Minister apologized the next day. Met with the outreach minister, showed the manual. Contacted the minister and no new action has been taking. Still running the meeting the same way. Preamble, steps, no 7th tradition being taken.

Carl: Provide them with a long form of the 12 traditions.

Bobbie: The church feels you are taking their job. Try to get the group to move, and break contact with the church.

Hayward: Contact the Area delegates. Get them involved.

Lawrence: Moving is unlikely, as they are a part of the church.

Carl: Provide information, and if they don’t smarten up, there is nothing more you can do. Hope for the best and leave it with GOD.

2008.01.05 Ratification of Richard L as WSOB Director.(Earl)

Earl: A report was sent out, including a copy of Richards resume. He is an old member and is back involved. Earl motions to approve his WSOB Director #2

Hayward seconds

All in favor

Unamimous

2008.01.06 DOO Interview process (Earl)

Earl: We need to discuss the process. An ad has been on Craigslist, and the response was great. Unfortunately the ad was placed too early, and all the best candidates are already now working elsewhere. The WSOB would like to participate in the interview process, and make a recommendation. Director of Resource development and the WSOB Chair. Trevor: Likes having John and Patty present

Bobbie: Could we have two separate interviews, one with John and Patty, and one with the WSBT?

Hayward; It would be okay for John and Patty to sit in. who would train them. Carl: Sees John being there, but why Patty

Bobbie: Discussed this with Patty. Agrees with Carl

Earl: Feels Patty should be there, as it allows the office to have 4 members present. Robin has agreed to stay on and help train the new person. It would cost us some addition funds. John and Patty would be available to assist after that.

Carl: If it is not part of Patty’s job to train, wh y should she be present?

Earl: Her experience is invaluable.

Carl: Too many people may intimidate the interviewee’s

Page – 3 – of 5

Hayward: Patty has a say by being involved in who we interview. John would be good to have in the room.

Bobbie: When we interviewed for the board chair, we did not have WSOB involvement.

Maybe John as he is the immediate supervisor.

Earl: John would only be there to observe, there is a right of participation in the concepts.

Bobbie: We need to know what we are doing so it can be arranged

Hayward: in the past, Patty was not interviewed by the board. The WSOB chair interviewed and hired her

Earl: We do not need to have guidelines written for everything.

Carl: John already gets first crack at all the candidates. Why do we need him in the room?

Bobbie: Who is sifting through the resumes?

Earl: John and Earl

Bobbie: If John is in the room with no vote, why do we need him? John can be persuasive if we give him a voice.

Earl: Disagrees with Carl and Bobbie. The right of participation includes seeing the process as a whole. It is wrong to not involve John. Don’t deny him the right of participation. It is up to us to dictate his role in the process. Bobbie: We need to consider the time factor of the process.

Earl: Do we need a motion?

Bruce; I support Johns participation. He will be involved with them closely.

Bobbie: We don’t want to give them the idea that they don’t answer to John.

Kim: Motion that John Bodkin Participates the WSOB Chair participates in the Interview process conducted by the WSBT for the DOO job.

Motion Carries Unanimously

2008.01.07 October conference Call minutes 2007(Carl) Bruce has 6 hand written pages of notes. They are half ready.

2008.01.08 Conference Manual’s or Workbook’s (Carl)

Carl: Problems with no new manuals being received for the fellowship.

Trevor: I suggested to the IT committee to do it. If they don’t, who does it fall too?

Hayward: H&I is done

Kim: Sent reveised conference guidelines out September 7th.

Re: sign off of manuals,Carl tries to pass the buck to Kim, but we shut him down.LOL!! Nicholas; Waiting for factfile information to be reformatted. They have had problems. Bobbie: S&B is not done with the manual yet. Unsure as to what the secretary of S&B is doing with it.

2008.01.09 Preparation SR 14 items’s (Carl)

Carl: Put it on early because we have a lot of work before May.

2008.01.11 Formatting of Trustee Reports (Trevor)

Please format your reports in Times New Roman font size 12 with a 1 inch border all around.

2008.01.12 Revised LCF Release form (Bruce)

Bruce: Got responses back from regarding this release form.

2008.01.13 TEC Update (Earl)

Earl: At the assembly candidates are elected onto the slate. We need resumes on the correct form for candidates, as well as TEC delegates information. There is a question on the form as to if they are attending the convention. Shedualing is going to be a nightmare. We need to bite the bullet either in SLC, or at the conference.

Kim: Looking to use a pass, need to book a flight. Copy Kim on TEC info.

Carl: Set the time for the May Quarterly. We need to Shake hands and Kiss some Babes!

Hayward : Motion to have May Quarterly Start May 19 , at 2:00 PM Earl Seconds

Bobbie: Against the motion. We would need to arrive too early or get right off the plane and into the quarterly. The bulk of people don’t want to interview at the convention. How many TEC delegates will be present.

Earl: Was the start time just to get the ball rolling? Monday evening would be better.

7:00PM Monday evening offered and excepted as a friendly amendment. Accepted Motion passed unanimously

Earl Motions to close

Kim seconds
