MINUTES COCAINE ANONYMOUS WORLD SERVICE BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 17, 1985

Meeting called to order by Willie at 6:40 p.m. Michael read the minutes from the September 26, 1985 meeting.
I. OLD BUSINESS
(A) Minutes from Santa Barbara Meeting – It was voted that the minutes of the meeting should not be circulated with communication letter.
(B) Gil read letter submitted by Trademark attorney in Texas.
(C) Michael purchased the World Service telephone and Code-A-Phone and it will be installed this week. They were purchased for a total of $223.00 which was approved for payment. It was decided that the phone will be kept locked up when not in use and that the answering machine can and will be hooked up at all times.
(D) Scott and Johnnie met with AA Central Office regarding AA’s business conference. They reported on how AA handled their business conference.
(E) The envelopes and letterhead will be ordered this week.
(F) Bob has not yet investigated the NRR letter.
(G) Logo – Mick is doing the logo but has not done so as yet.
(H) Scott read Financial Statement and it was voted that it be’sent out with communication letter.
(I) It was decided that Willie will send Lawrence B. a “thank you for getting honest and services no longer needed” letter. He will also be informed of the terms of repayment – $50.00 per month beginning December 1, 1985. It was also voted that this matter will no longer be kept a secret.
(J) The East Coast Convention will be held February 21, 22, and 23 in Brewster, New York. Approximately 165-200 people will be attending.
(K) Minutes of Conference Committee read by Scott
(a copy is attached for those who were not at 10/17/86 meeting), and discussed.
II. NEW BUSINESS
(A) The World Service Convention will be held February 1 and 2, 1986 at the Holiday Inn.
(B) National Directory needs to be updated.
(C) Letter from Dana was read by Laurie and it was decided that there were not enough Board Members to make a decision.
MEETING ADJOURNED at 9:20 with Serenity Prayer and the next meeting to be held on November 7, 1985 at 6:30 p.m.
