Meeting called to order at 7:40pm.
Meredith read the 8th Tradition;
Joe read the 8th Concept.

Motion (Joy/Meredith): Suspend rules in order to consider item of new business out of order. Passes
Motion (Joy/Meredith): to enter executive session in order to interview office manager applicant. Passes

Hiring subcommittee:
- Had two candidates for 2nd interviews.
- One of these two candidates has withdrawn
- Two additional candidates are also qualified, but the sense of the committee is that both are less desirable than the two mentioned above.

Chair:
- E-mailed CAWS2000 chair regarding raffles, childcare.
- Requested updated budget and Quickbooks data through March 31, 2000
- “Band” check was released.
- Secretary assisted Office in finishing new network setup.
- Working on literature rev date issues.
- Chair to contact webmaster
- Chair to contact AT&T regarding Vice-Chair calling card.
- Office staff directed to NOT use full spelling of “Cocaine Anonymous” in mailing return addresses.
- Office is developing inventory (software and hardware) of all computers
- Office sent Word-macro virus-infected Word file to Scott. Will investigate.
- CAWS2000 childcare committee requests donations of games, etc.
Vice Chair: Absent
Treasurer:
- All posting done to reserve account. $93,400.48 as of 4/28/00
- Net income for April (operating account) $13,810.12
- Sent e-mail to CAWS 2000 requesting updated budget and quickbooks data
- Requested items received.
- Office loan to CAWS2000 ($5000 hotel deposit) is now available for reimbursement.
- Received phone calls from CAWS2001 treasurer regarding bank accounts – referred to WSOB chair.
- 592 CAWS2000 registrations in house.
Secretary:
- Word Perfect 8 not installable on Windows 98 machines. Office will have to buy WP2000.
- Suggested policy regarding sale of literature to outside entities in response to reprint requests.
- Suggested policy regarding inclusion of CA contact info in NPO/NGO directories.
- Assisted office in configuration of new computer system.
- Shared modem connection works well.
- Set up Netscape mail on each machine so that all employees might access incoming mail. Note that only Office Manager’s machine will cause mail to be removed from Netwizards mailbox.
- Interviewed candidates for office manager
Director-At-Large:
- Newsgram (1Q00) ready for printer. Will be out end of week.
- 2Q00 Newsgram deadline end of week.

Literature sales to outside entities.
Motion: (Kevin/Joy): Office Policy to be established that, whenever the office receives a request for fair-use reproduction or literature purchase from an outside entity, that the office immediately send a literature purchase order from to the requestor.
