STRUCTURE AND BY-LAWS
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
Welcome to the 2005 World Service Conference. The purpose of the Structure and By-Laws Committee is to formulate by-laws, guidelines and structures by which Cocaine Anonymous can operate day-to-day, at conferences and elsewhere around the World. We plan to execute with great diligence the task of being of maximum service to our fellowship, by introducing new verbiage into our all-inclusive World Service Manual. Allowing our fellowship to grow and flourish. Last year we broke new ground by submitting our Referrals that resulted in Motions in groups as they pertained to the World Service Manual. If plausible you may see this again this year on the conference floor. This year we will be attempting another milestone for the Structure and By-Law committee. All I can say is “I have a dream” and with your help it can come true.
COMMITTEE INTRODUCTIONS:
We have 3 committee officers returning this year along with many committee members from around the world, we will need to add a committee co-secretary. Election for the replacement officer will be the first item on our agenda.
Our 3 returning officers are Bryan Seid – Chair, Trevor Scheible – Co-Chair and Bryan Bell – Secretary. All returning delegates from the Structure and Bylaws Committee are encouraged to rejoin in our quest to provide Cocaine Anonymous as a whole the most up to date comprehensive manual.
REFERRALS THAT WERE WORKED UPON DURING THE YEAR:
Structure & By-Laws met at the 2005 World Service Convention to discuss referrals that were tabled or held in committee as well as referrals from the close of the 2004 World Service Conference. Many of our individual members dedicated themselves to being prepared on items tabled for this year, bringing back to the group their suggestions for motions or recommendations to be included this year in the Structure & By-Laws report.

CLOSING COMMENTS:
The Structure & By-Laws group encourages new membership to our group with great enthusiasm. It is a great committee for new delegates who would like to learn more about our manual. Structure & By-Laws is a group comprised of Lawyers, Doctors, School Teachers, Bus Drivers, Retired Individuals and the occasional Addict and Alcoholic. Come get involved with a group that demands late night sessions, early morning hours with no gratification from the floor or even inside our own group. What I can promise, is that when the conference is over you will feel a sense of accomplishment. We encourage you to join us in making a difference with your 2006 World Service Manual.
