WSC INTERNET COMMITTEE REPORT

INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:

The WSCIC had great enthusiasm in working together to accomplish the work that this fellowship has bestowed upon them in this years conference. 6 days of love and tolerance being this year’s conference theme was taken into every meeting. This theme produced laughter as well as an underlined seriousness to complete our work.

The committee reviewed about 60% of all the websites linked to www.ca.org during the conference. The committee found that most websites were compliant. We will continue to provide assistance to the CA fellowship, Districts/Areas in matters relating to the Internet through the year.

I would like to present to you the 2003 WSC Internet Committee

Ivan Libson South Central Area Texas
Terry Marsden Utah Area
Mark Tomkinson Northern California Area
Leon Mason Trustee at Large
Greg Bennett Washington State Area
Richard Temple San Fernando Valley Area
Craig Shell Online Area

The committee worked on 5 referrals 2 of which resulted in motions, 2 were referred to other committees, 1 referral resulted in no motions, zero items were tabled, and 2 housekeeping motions were created in committee.   I would like to thank those new delegates that joined our committee and help get through our stack of referrals. The committee continues assisting the WSO in linking many new District/Area sites to the www.ca.org.

REFERRALS THAT RESULTED IN MOTIONS:

Referral # 3543: Suggested that any Area/District newsletters or personal stories must be approved by the Area, and the Regional Trustee before posting on the District/Area website.

Chair – The question is – does the district and the area

Leon – yes.

Teri Knight speaks in favor of the motion

I believe that it is the trustees responsibility and obligation to oversee.

Jay Blassingame speaks in favor of the motion. The GA area could have avoided trouble with this motion. We value the trustees knowledge.

Leon – Speaks for the motion. The main points have been addressed. We want to make sure that anything connected to the site is within the traditions.

John Bodkin- call for the question

Referral # 3128: Modify workbook, paragraph 3 to read: “It is expected that this workbook will change to cover other new developments as they arise in this rapidly changing environment.”

Motion# 2: On page 1, paragraph 3 in the workbook replace with the following: “It is expected that this workbook will change to cover other new developments as they arise in this rapidly changing environment.”
