3. TAX STATUS
We sent the papers 2 or 3 weeks ago, but have not yet heard from the IRS. We are waiting for an IRS. We are not yet recognized by the IRS and the Board of Equalization.
B. PUBLIC INFORMATION REPORT
1. Gil reported that Tom Kinney has contacted a person who will provide TV spots for C.A. for $1.00. His name is Rif.
2. Gil stated that he is trying to get reduced rates for use of parks, but hasn’t found out any more about it yet.
3. Peter mentioned that he is speaking at a V.A. hospital meeting and will take our directories with him.
4. Barbara W. mentioned that the L.A. Times article on C.A. will come out around Thanksgiving.

C. PARTY REPORT
1. Johnny S. said that we have made $1370.00 profit to-date: $208 on the raffle, $70 on bumper stickers, and $116 on the 7th Tradition, among other amounts.
2. John C. suggested that we send a letter to Coldwater Canyon Hospital to thank them for buying 18 tickets. Gil will write the letter.
D. TELEPHONE STATUS
1. Ray G. commented that he has recruited 5 of 7 people required for manning the phone. He said that they would have a meeting next week to discuss the answering machine. He said that they would start manning the phone Wednesday morning.
2. Ray noted that the 12—step list is available but needs typing.
3. Our telephone policy is that we can only recommend ourselves and not specific hospitals. Ray said he only gives out three numbers: Families Anonymous, L.A. County Information Lino, and Tom Kinney’s number.
4. C.A. owes Kay G. $1332.00 for phone bills. The G.S.O. gave him $500.00 this evening, leaving a balance of $832.00
E. C.A. CHIPS
1. 1500 chips have been ordered by Gil at $.19 per chip. They will be available through the General Services Office for .25 cents per chip. Gil will be responsible for sales.
F. G.S.O. REORGANIZATION
1. Gil explained the reorganization to persons who had not attended the last meeting.
G. HOSPITAL CONTACTS
1. Gil said that he will contact hospitals to familiarize then with Cocaine Anonymous. Robin volunteered to help.
II. NEW BUSINESS
A. NEW MEETINGS
1. Howard stated that he is looking for a place other than a hospital to start a Men’s Stag meeting. Gil suggested

2. Howard suggested that we thinly about starting to look for another place for the General Services Office, perhaps a storefront.
B. NEW YEAR’S EVE EVENTS
1. The issue of the organizers of a New Year’s Eve party calling it an A.A.-C.A. function was discussed at length. It was decided that Ken C. will talk to Tony M. and Doug to clarify the situation and v.ill report back to Johnny S.
2. There was discussion on events that C.A. could sponsor for Christmas and New Year’s. A motion was made and passed to find a place for a 12-hour marathon meeting on New Year’s Eve from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Robin will check on the Kaufman and Broad building. The committee to organize the meeting will include: Robin, Ken C., Pia and Howard. Robin suggested that a group conscience be taken at meetings to see if people are interested in a marathon and to call Robin.
C. FUTURE OBJECTIVES
Johnny S. presented his list of objectives for C.A. General Services. Other objectives were added in the discussion. The list includes the following:
1. Creating a department for locating meeting places (ie: a meeting with child cafe facilities)
2. Produce C.A. tapes of speakers for sale
3. have a Social Director and committee (ie: for sports functions and other activities)
4. Write up a letter for a list of people with talents needed by the G.S.O. This letter would be circulated in meetings for interested people to sign.
5. Set up a Panels Committee for hospitals, prisons, and schools.
a. Howard expressed interest in this committee
6. Create a Literature committee
A. Mitch and Johnny S. are interested.
7. A concerned effort should be made to get our telephone number known by the public.

8. Have live people manning the phones.
9. Have a storefront for the Central Office.
10. Have a National Directory for keeping in touch with other groups.
a. Ray is in charge of this and John C. is interested, also.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
The next meeting will be announced at a future date.
